Yes! It has a Y in it and I don’t know how to make that look pretty in the middle of a word lol

@adeharo210:  I’m hyphenating and I think I’ll just keep my regular signature. As long as my typed/printed name is my legal name, my signature can just be “X” and it’ll be legal.

YES!  I actually have had an issue with this at the bank.  I went to get a money order a year after I was married and they were like your signature doesn’t match (because I was still getting used to it with the first signature).  They were finally like just sign it the way you used to and we were fine then lol.

I’m not sure I’ll change it because mine is pretty scribbled to begin with.  I don’t think anyone can read it.

I feel like I’m going to need to have a middle school throwback– writing my signature with my crush’s last name all throughout my notebooks until I get it just right.  Back then it was *Mrs. SunshineSmiles Timberlake* Wink

I’m actually pretty lucky, my last name is only one letter different from my Fiance. But my signature is very neat (it’s the paranoia. The messier your signature, the easier it is to copy). I’m worried about the change. I’m not getting married until next year, so I’m changing my mind on a daily basis on changing my name. I always wanted to make my maiden name my middle name and take my husband’s name (loath my middle name), but I really love my name. It’s so pretty. How do you get rid of Merry as your last name?

@al0818:  Totally!  Been married 9 months and I cannot get the SYRS part of my name written down properly to save my life.

OMG thanks for the heads up! I didn’t even think about having to sign a new last name!!!  Do we need to sign our marriage licenses with our new last names… yikes, better look….

@al0818:  i’ve always said i can’t wait to get married because i am unable to sign my maiden name – i just do the first letter and some squiggles. FI’s name isn’t much better though, so its going to take a lot of practice. ugh.

After I changed my name following my marriage, my signature went from the format of “Jane E. Smith” to “Jane Smith Doe.” It definitely took some time for me to get used to not  signing my former, middle initial and to  signing a new last name. The first few months I had to sign my new name, I had to really think about it, and I was constantly worried that I was going to mess up my signature. After awhile, though, it became second nature for me.

Yup my last name will have gone from 5 letters to 8 letters.  I practice all the time so I can get used to writing it when I finally change my name but ugh it looks horrible.
