My new last name is hard for most people to pronounce. I can only hope our future children don’t have speech impediments lol

Ziggy2112 :  I really don’t like my new last name with my first name. My maiden name is AMAZING and unique, and now I have the same last name as a gajillion people in the world 🙁

My FI’s last name is really not attractive. It has both a farm animal name, and a close spelling of genitalia in it. There are only like 30 people in all of the US with the last name, and I kind of liked the anonymity of my maiden name. I’m definitely torn about taking his last name, but we have joked about coming up with a completely new last name to share, so at least I have options.

Ziggy2112 :  my husband and I have names that start with the same letter, and our very unusual last name also starts with a t.

t and t tweirdness.

I honestly still haven’t gotten used to the sound and am not terribly thrilled by it, but he is the last person in the world with his last name and what it meant to him for me to take it was entirely worth it.

My fiancé has a weird last name! My last name is Irish and a big part of my identity. Some people even just refer to me by my last name. Needless to say I don’t want to change it, but I feel it would be insulting to my fiance not to change it, particularly as I took my ex husband’s name (I didn’t want to but he threw a big wobbly and I backed down). My solution to this is to keep my own last name in work and use his for everything else. He really doesn’t mind (it’s your name babe, do what makes you happy because if you’re happy I’m happy) but I do want to take his name in some way. This is how I’m handling it and the compromise works for me. Maybe you could do something similar?
