Hmm. Sometimes it can be hard to tell, but I usually give a person the benefit of the doubt until/unless they are very obviously trolling – in which case, I simply submit a flag report to the mods and let them deal with it as they see fit.

Truth of the matter is, I’ve gone incognito as have many other bees. Some newer users might not have the foresight to use the “bee incognito” disclaimer to lend credibility to their post on a newer account – but that shouldn’t mean we pile onto them.

@badabing88:  I didn’t see it, but I have noticed a lot of really odd first posts lately, and I wonder if people are now quick to judge newbies. I won’t even bother opening ANYTHING sex related anymore because in the past few days I’ve seen at least 3 newbies posting really weird stories and seeming to fish for sexual stories from other people. It creeps me out.

I think she posted around the same time as a troll, so people assumed she was not a real person.

It came across as ‘trolling’ because it was a very dramatic post, and her first post at that… ‘trolls’ will start threads about topics to stir up the pot, cause drama and then not return to the post to provide any more info or answer questions. I was one of the ones who originally assumed troll, but when she came back to answer questions, i had typed out a proper response, but it had been deleted by the time I hit submit… I feel bad now, if it was a legit post and all she got was people hating on her because of it.

Ive def seen some posts with some very rude responses when bees ask for help. I wish everyone would try to be more supportive at all times, and if you can be supportive- dont respond!

@badabing88:

The thing is that given all the recent situations with trolls it is easy to assume that they are one also, Especially if the stories sound way too absurd. Also, most bees who open up private accounts for fear of being recognized politely point out that they are in fact a regular poster going anon.

Just because they respond and say things like “oh i was just looking for help; thanks for nothing” or whatever, does not relieve them of the troll status.

Idk. I posted on both of the threads you mentioned (and one of the sex ones that @MexiPino: brought up) and thought that they were all trolls.

I think from now on I’m just not going to bother.

@badabing88:   I’m with you, wondering the same.
