tomkitty :  I have no experience with NM venues, but I think it would be super cool to take the Cumbres & Toltec RR up into the mountains and have the reception at the place they do lunches midway through and then head back into Chama.  Get married either there with the glorious views, or on one of the gondola train cars.  Invite me.  I can make myself available.

Though I live in NM, I got married in Moab, so not a lot of help otherwise.

ETA: White Sands would be awesome too, but I don’t remember a lot of town nearby.  Still if you could go sledding down the dunes in your wedding gown, what fun!  Also don’t get married in July/August unless you want to get rained on.

tomkitty :  yes! What is your budget? What style are you wanting? I spent a lot of time researching NM venues, esp in Santa Fe!

I am getting married at Hacienda Vargas (just south of Santa Fe) this month. My wedding is very small, but I think they can hold up to 150 people. The prices are much better than Santa Fe and has that true New Mexican feel to it!

We just got back from doing our engagement photos in White Sands! It’s beautiful there. We stayed in Alamagordo and saw several hotel options there.

tomkitty :  omg! I’m a NM bride. I’m from Eastern NM and fiancé is from Albuquerque. He is a member of the Scottish Rite so our wedding venue is going to be held at the Scottish Rite in Santa Fe.

That is where we’ll be holding the ceremony. 🙂

tomkitty :  I’d love to get married at the Loretto Chapel. No idea on the price but I’d assume that it’s expensive because of its significance in Santa Fe. Maybe check out Hotel Santa Fe or Buffalo Thunder.

tomkitty :  I’m doing destination wedding so I’m not planning DIY. Any place on the Plaza will require you to use their food. My budget is 10k for 30 guests and we chose La Fonda.

St Francis is inexpensive but didn’t get back to me regularly.

Rancho Encantado is gorgeous and budget friendly for a small wedding/reception but the rooms are super pricey.

Buffalo Thunder was well priced.

Inn and Spa at Loretto was also well priced and the wedding coordinator is awesome.

El Dorado was also great, but the room they offered for my small party couldn’t be rearranged.

Please PM me with an email address and I can send you my quotes if you want!
