My Fiance and I are trying to figure out where we are going for our honeymoon. He would love to go back home to the Philippines but we can’t afford it so soon after the wedding. Same thing with visiting Europe, so we decided to save the out of country trips until our 5 year anniversary.
Our wedding is in November, so we don’t want to leave one cold/snowy state for another and we aren’t the laying on the beach type (he actually doesn’t know how to swim and has a fear of the ocean, so a cruise is out). We talked about Vegas – I have been there already and would love to go back but we decided we wanted to go somewhere neither of us have been before. That is where New Orleans comes in.
Can anyone tell me how it is in November (weather wise)? We would be heading there 11/10 and probably staying for 5 or 7 days. Recommendations on where to stay? Places to visit? My Fiance is a huge jazz lover, so we’d want to incorporate that somehow. Any tips would be great! 🙂

I’m not from New Orleans but we were there in early November and the weather went from cold and windy (in the 30’s) to warm in the high 70s. Great music to be found on Frenchmen St.
Have you thought of Key West. Romantic, usually warm, music (although maybe not the caliber of New Orleans) and lots to do and see. The cost might be somewhat more that NOLA.

@Brokensound21: been to New Orleans about 5 times for work. I’ve been on trips for 4 days to 11 day. there is some cool stuff to do but really no more than 3- 4 days in needed there. I would suggest renting an airboat and checking out the swamps! Sounds silly but so fun and sooo cool to see all the alligators! I agree with the person above and checking out key west is a great idea! If you have any questions about NoLa feel free to PM me!

@Brokensound21: also just a side note… My fiancé is Filipino also! Heading there in march before our wedding to see his family!

@beccab107: thank you! I put Frenchmen St. On the list. I brought up Key West but he has been. So we will save that for another trip 🙂
@CatieMack: thank you – it’s been slow at work so I have been researching flights and activities and we have decided on arriving 11/10 and leaving 11/14. So enough time to do some things. Very cool – have you ever been to the Philippines before? My Fiance is from Manila, so I am not sure how the places vary from one city to the next.
