@SuzySchmoozy:  Honestly I love your diamond in the 2mm band. Now as

Far as the jeweler saying the 3mm might fit your diamond better it could be true also. I don’t know what it’s like to wear a stone that large. It could very well be you are not used to the thicker shank because you always have worn the 2mm. Go with whatever you love the best. If you had initially wanted the 2mm one in palladium but your jeweler talked you into getting the thicker one and you’re not feeling it… Well maybe you just really want the same look you already have?

Hi, Suzy!  It’s your fellow ring “cousin.”  I can understand your apprehension, but I think once you have it re-set, you’ll really like it.  Did your jeweler say anything about adding a euro shank (square on the bottom)?  I find that mine helps keep my ring from spinning.  If I remember correctly, your marquise is ~2 carats; correct?  Just for reference (and because I like to shamelessly overload WB with photos of my marquise solitaire), my specs are:

1.27 ct marquise diamond with a 4mm wide cathedral setting, euro shank.

@SuzySchmoozy:  LOL I like your poll Smile

In seeing @Mrs Canuck‘s ring (very nice) I think she makes a good point that you might like it once it’s set and it will match your band nicely too. Although, I personally like my band to be a bit thicker than my e-ring. That’s just me though and my diamond is nowhere near the size of yours so you need to find what you like best.

My band is very thin and I wish it were a tiny bit thicker. 2.5mm instead of 2mm. Just so it’s a bit heavier.

On another note, why did you go with palladium and how do you find it so far? I’m trying to figure out whether to do WG or Palladium.

I like the new band. I really can’t see much of a difference in pictures from your old one. I like how the new one points upward. I say keep it!

    I loooove your current setting.

I cant really see too much of a difference with the new band, so I think it should be ok. Can you get it set and if you seriously hate it have it put back in the old setting?

@SuzySchmoozy:  REALLY?!?!  Thank you!!  I’ll have to tell FI; he chose my setting before I did, but he has a really good idea of what I like (even things other than HIM).

Not to muddy the discussion, but what are your thoughts on a wedding band?  I think I have probably looked at 10,000 different rings, and can’t find anything I like.  Going to have to go custom, I suppose…
