Hi 🙂 Im new to the board but I have been reading posts for awhile. I have been married for 11yrs but have recently gotten a new ring that takes a 2ct center stone, and while I plan on being honest that it is not a diamond I WOULD like it to look its best! 🙂 That being said, I took my setting in to my local jeweler and they ordered in a few CZs for me to look at. My question is, does anyone have any experience or info on jeweler CZs? Like quality, where they get theirs etc. I would think since its coming from a jeweler who sells diamonds, it should be the best….right? My husband and I went online last week and ordered a “MyRussianDiamond” that is certified etc and it came yesterday and looks amazing. I took it up there and theirs looks great too. I just dont want to end up with something that will get cloudy and fade and need to be cleaned every other day, as I will be wearing this as my wedding ring. Thank you so much for any advice!!

HappyInLove03: You’d have to ask your jeweler where the CZ is from.

To be honest, ultimately a CZ is a CZ and without regular cleaning it’s going to look cloudy and dull.
I have a pair of CZ earrings that came from a jeweler and a CZ ring that was my grandmother’s. Clean they look amazing, when wearing them for a bit without cleaning often they look just meh.

The center stone on my engagement ring is a CZ which was purchased from a jeweler. I have no info on where it was sourced from because the ring was a surprise. What I can say is that this is by far the nicest CZ I have ever owned. I’ve owned other CZ pieces (mostly from Amazon and department stores) which have gotten cloudy after a bit of wear, but that doesn’t happen to stone on my ring. It stays sparkly throughout the day and requires very little cleaning. Usually if I need to clean the ring, it’s because one of the side stones got cloudy, not the CZ. If I were in the market for another CZ piece for daily wear, I would defintiely start with a jeweler.

Thank you so much for the replies 🙂 I did ask where they get theirs from and she kinda ignored me lol, I think because they want me to buy from them not the supplier. I currently own a much lower quality CZ and I have had it for 2 years almost and I clean it every few days to maintain sparkle (pain in the butt!) I think I will go with the jeweler stone and HOPE it turns out like bleusteel’s stone 🙂
