So I majorly damaged a prong on my original e ring today. Fi and I headed straight to the jewelers after work. While we were there we made the decision to replace the ring all together instead of fixing it. I never truly loved my original ring, just the symbolism behind it. Ths center stone was on the small-ish size for my finger size and the major part for me was that the band was asymmetrical. However, had the prong damage not occurred I would have kept it forever. My new ring is a yellow gold three stone ring with channel set diamonds on the band. It’s the complete opposite of my white gold solitaire on a pave band. Now, I do not plan on telling people I traded my ring in but obviously they will know. I’m worried about getting comments like “wasn’t the first one good enough?” or being called spoiled. How can I respond to this sort of thig when it happens? I’m not sure of how to go about explaining the situation. Help!!
