my ring is about the same size or maybe a tad bigger (8 x6 i believe) plus i wear a size 5  and i love it! though it is a morganite not a moissy so i dont have any experience there. It may take a little getting used to and Im sure that it not being sized correctly isnt helping. I say if you love the ring (which is gorgeous) the  just get it sized correctly and give it some time to get used to it. πŸ™‚

I say keep the current stone because eventually you will experience shrinkage.  Now as for sizing yes moissyco & ad.com tend to be off in sizing but keep in mind the wedding band can change how it fits.  My ring from ad.com is slightly lose but I am going to wait until my wedding band arrives before having it resized or a bead placed in locally.

It’s beautiful. Truly. Aside from needing the prongs tightened and ring sized, I’d say you shouldn’t worry about keeping it. Love it from here on out!

    Wow… what a gorgeous ring!

What do you mean by “believable”? Do you want people to assume right off the bat that it’s a diamond (you may catch flack here for admitting you want a moissy to be mistaken for a diamond, but I personally think its your ring, your choice).  If so, do either you or your Fi work in the kind of field where you might reasonably afford such a large diamond? If not, and “diamondness” is your primary concern, a downgrade in size might be a good idea.
