My new setting just arrived from moissaniteco a day early! I have to admit, when I first opened the box, I was a bit disappointed 🙁 The ring is much heavier looking than what I hoped or expected. I prefer a daintier ring. Here it is next to my old setting:
Even though they are both 2mm thick, the new band feels much bulkier, probably because it is 4mm wide (the old one is 3) and does not have the knife edge like the old one. I am wearing it around for a bit to see if I can get to used to it, but I’m not sure if I am going to keep it. I also do not think it looks as good with my wedding band, and I am hesitant to change my band:
It is definitely a much nicer ring, and has nicer stones than my old ring and my wedding band. I feel like it is huge and bulky though. 🙁

I like you old one better to be honest… This one is ok though, but the more delicate one looks like it fits you better. It looks like a different height to your wedding band too. Do you mind that?

I think it matches your wedding band perfectly. I like it MUCH better than the first setting. But what matters is that YOU like it!

I agree with Jcent! The new setting isn’t bad, but it doesn’t suit your wedding ring or your finger as well as your original in my opinion. Both are pretty, so it’s down to what you love.

I personally think it’s beautiful, but definitely don’t keep it if you’re not 100% happy with it! 🙂

I have to agree with everyone who likes the old setting better. They’re both beautiful but I personally think the old setting suits your finger much better

Why did you order a new setting? The old one looks fine!

@BluePeaches: I like the new one.. Very pretty!!!! Plus I like how it looks with your band

You will get use to it. I remember wondering how I would get used to my wedidng band and engagement ring at the same time, now I take the band off and I can’t imagine how I just wore the engagement ring 🙂

@tisposeroperche: I am getting a bigger stone (which means a bigger halo/head as well) and I was thinking my setting looks a little plain…I love everything about it except that I do wish it had more twists instead of just one crisscross.

I like the older one better I think. But the new one is pretty as well, just more chunky as you have pointed out.

I wouldn’t call it huge and bulky, but it definitely isn’t dainty. I think it’s pretty but what really matters is how you feel about it.
If dainty is what you really had your heart set on, then go with your first instinct. If it drives you nuts now, it will really drive you nuts 20 years from now. My advice would be to send it back and keep hunting until you find something that makes your heart go pitter patter and makes you not want to take it off, ever ever ever…
Good luck with whatever you decide!

I think you bees are right. I am going to send the setting back and keep looking 🙁 I was really hoping to have a ring soon (as you can see, I cannot wear my old one in its current condition!)
