So it’s been a week since my engagement ring and my grandmother’s ring were stolen, and after checking all pawn shops, posting to Facebook and Craigslist and calling the transit center every day, my rings still haven’t been recovered. I’m thinking of pretty much giving up by this point.
To cheer myself up (and because I’m going batsh*t crazy from not being able to fidget with my ring), I took a trip to the jewelers to try to find a stand in ring that could replace my grandmother’s while still symbolizing her. She loved sapphire rings, but the ones I looked at just didn’t look right on my finger. I guess I’m not a dark stone type of person! I looked at a couple of blue topaz rings, which were her birthstone, and I found one that fit perfect, was in my price range, and is absolutely gorgeous!!
Ignore my awful dry hands, but I absolutely am in love with it, and I love that I can still pay homage to my grandmother. I’ve decided to wear it on my left hand for now to stand-in as my engagement ring, but once I eventually get my new e-ring, this puppy will be back on my right hand!
Bees, tell me what you think! And please, please, PLEASE post pictures of your blue topaz rings if you have one! I love seeing all the different shades of blue!
