@iata:  My maid of honor used orange for her September wedding, and it was beautiful. You could have a lot of fun pairing soft colors with orange to play around with falls many changing colors!

@iata:  Welcome to Wedding Bee.  I’m 56 and will be getting married the same day.  My Fiance is 67 and we also have 4 children between us, he has 2 sons and a daughter, I have a daughter.  2 of the 4 are married, but no grandchildren yet.  His youngest son will be his best man and my daughter will be my matron of honor.

It seems like there is so much more to planning a wedding now than it was when I was first married in the 70’s.  Details that I never thought about before.  We are having a small wedding, around 50 people and to keep costs down I will try to DIY as much of the reception decor as I can and the bouquets.

There is a wealth of info on this site.

Glad you are here.  I’ll be 49 and my Canadian Fiance will be 52 next summer when we get married.  We’ve been together for 13 years, but no children. First marriage for him, 2nd for me.

Some of us take a little long to get to the altar. But definitely worth the wait!

Welcome to the hive! I have waited to get married too and I am 48 and Fiance is 49 and we both are ready to enjoy just spending time with each other. We dont have any grandchildren yet and I am kind of glad we dont because we want to travel and if we had them we would have to come home at a certain time because my girls would complain we arent around.

We enjoy this stage because the hard part (raising children) is over and we can focus our energy and time on each other. Thank you for sharing your plans with us and the pictures of the venue are beautiful.

@iata:   That is a beautiful place!  It looks very nice even without decorations.

I’m using autumn colors as my wedding colors.  It just seemed very natural to me to work with the colors of the season.  Red-orange, deep red, yellow, cream & brown.

Do you have a favorite color?

Congrats! Your ideas and venue is awesome. You seem to have great family support. I have also been in a long relationship with my Fiance, 13 years. His 63 and Im 42. Welcome looking forward to chatting with you. I love your colors. Im a winter bride to be. So I thought a few shades of different blues, silver, black and white, but Im still in the early planning. Good luck
