I’m not sure I like any of those sorts of blues with red to be 100% honest. I think it will be very difficult to style. royal blue or navy bluecan look nice with red but you run the risk of looking like an america themed reception.

Do you have any alternatives in mind?

what about gray and red?

Whichever colors you do chose, i think it’s nice to mix a few different tones of each color (eg a few different grays with a deep red) to keep a sophisticated look.

It looks like most of your pictures are teal or aqua. The dresses look like more of a tiffany blue.

Have you considered pairing the red with white or gold instead of another bold color? Or you could do many shades of red, like cherry red, burgandy, dusty red etc?

One of the problems with choosing colors is that every manufacturer, designer, retailer etc calls the same color a different name. Go to a paint store and find a paint chip that matches the color you love. Take a handful of them. It’s always handy to have one with  you when you are shopping for decor, dresses etc.

Here is an example of all the different colors that are called teal.

To get back to your question, I would call your blue turquoise or aqua. I think it is a great choice and will be bright and fresh for a summer wedding.

Pantone is the authority on colors. Choose your color from this selection

Ooo I like the idea of incorporating red & various shades of purple together! As PP said, I think gold would also tie everything in together. It would be very romantic/warm.

If you are set on blue though, I think tiffany blue/aqua would look really nice (like the picture you posted with the blue bridesmaid dresses)! It gives it a very bright/sharp contrast πŸ™‚

I don’t know whey everyone is trying to talk you out of your color palette . You mentioned the venue is primarily red. You can tie in your decor with the venue by using red in small amounts along with the blue you love.

White and green are often part of a color palette by default because of the florals and greenery. See the pic of centerpieces you posted.

Most every wedding has at least one metallic in the cutlery. All the metallics- gold, silver, copper , rose gold etc are neutral and can be used anywhere.

Go with your heart and use what you love. Do you not us.

This site acts up on my phone all the time, so I’m not sure if the post about colors that I recently posted on is the one that’s was linked, but I’m doing red, plum, and gold for mine. Plum bridesmaid dresses, all different shades of reds and purples in the flowers, and gold accents.
