@MrsEllieBellie: Mr.ND and I are writing 2 letters to one another. One we’ll give to each other at our first look (and I’ll bawl my head off, I’m sure), and the other we’ll seal away to read on our first anniversary. Before we open them the next year, we’ll put in a new one we just wrote, read the ones we exchanged on our wedding day, and then the ones we’d sealed up for the year. Each year we’ll read the sealed one and put a new one in, highlighting our highs and lows, the strength of our relationship, why we love one another, etc. Sort of a reminder from year to year about why we loved each other the year before.

Some people combine this with a wine box ceremony, but we’re not big wine fans, so we’ll just do letters outside of the ceremony between us, not as part of it in front of our friends and family.

There is also a very sweet idea of a ‘ring warming,’ where your friends and family pass your rings around and warm them with their heartfelt wishes for your happy marriage. Depending on the amount of guests, you could just do this with your parents and bridal party, or all guests.

Those are just a couple of ideas. There are a ton of great ideas on the bee! Hope that you find a few that you love!

I’m hoping the tradition that catches on with my family and friends is super short heartfelt weddings. 10-15 minutes is all we need. I timed us reading through our ceremony and it took just under 7 minutes!
