Any of you brides have wedding related new years resolutions? Mine is definitely shedding for the wedding. I signed up for a gym membership and hope to start running next week. If any of you have a good routine you’d like to share I’d love to hear them. I’m pretty good about watching what I eat, but I could def get rid of some of the sweets!!
I have til September, but if I don’t start now I think it’ll be just more difficult later in the year! Hope you all have a happy and safe New Years tonight!! Can’t wait for 2013 as I’ll be a Mrs!!

I have the same resolution as you. I’ve got about 4 months to shed 15 pounds. I’m also going to start taking better care of my skin and hair. I want to look – and more importantly, FEEL – great on my wedding day and night. π

I have about 7 months to shed the pounds.
As it is right now I am really sick with anemia, so my NYR is to get healthy.
I am going on a 10 day juicing diet, and learning to become vegetarian.
It is a big change, but I need to be the one controlling my life again – Not my iron def.
Good luck ladies! We can do this!

I’m also looking to shed some lbs. Not just for the wedding, but that’s a big motivating factor. I started a workout routine back in August. I will kick it into high gear in January. I ran a half marathon at the start of December and hurt my foot, so I was out of commission for a few weeks. But it’s feeling better now.
My routine includes hot vinyasa yoga, spinning, weight lifting, and running. If I don’t mix it up, I will get bored.
I also got a juicer for Christmas, so I’ll put that to good use ASAP!

Ditto, my goal is 20lbs, since we have no date I keep telling myself there is no rush- but I also want to be fit and healthy as well as other reasons. From 150 (I am only 5′) to 125. I plan on wearing a mermaid/fitted dress and want to look more like Jessica Rabbit rather then Niki Minaj.
Is there a motivational weight loss group here. I would love to give/get support?

@ChuckNorris: I have not seen Happy, I’ll have to check it out! Thanks for the recommendation I need to run and get back to a routine at the gym.
@TogetherThroughLife: My skin is another thing I need to start taking care of as I do have minor acne – I got ProActive for xmas, not working, had to stop a couple days ago because it was making me red blotchy and peeling my skin! Good luck with the 15lbs! I’m sure you can do it!!
@JoJoDahling: Hope you get better soon!! I have some major respect for people that can go vegetarian or vegan!! I will be increasing my veggie and fruit intake though!! Good luck!
@MissKPreK: Good luck!!
@CocoLoco523: I think mixing it up that much keeps it interesting and you motivated! I’m also a huge fan of yoga. One of my friends wants me to do hot yoga with her, which I have never tried. Have fun with the juicer!!
@aliciapdx: I think a motivational weight loss group on here would be great!! I could use the support and I wouldn’t mind giving either π I haven’t actually set a goal weight but I’m determined to get a smaller waist and thighs!!

@SagHarborBride: It’s a great motivation to want to get up and get active, they talk about people who exercise in many different ways are happiest people. Def made me wanna join Zumba and yoga and rock climbing and all that lol

I dont have a lot of weight to lose, but I have noticed that I have a muffin top and gottena a little saggy since halloween, then leftover candy, then thanksgiving and xmas…sigh.so i’m trying to omit the sweets. I have dropped out of my routine, so trying ot get back into it, no more holidays, no distractions.
I love the classes at the gym, body pump, yogas, etc. we also have some dvds for when I’m not feeling like getting out or if something comes up. I try to go everyday at lunchtime and that way, nothing can come up in the evening, always seems like something comes up. I also just stocked up the fridge w/frozen chicken and fish and those packages of steamed veggies (you put them in the microwave). we eat these a lot, well used to-haha, but back on track now! four months to go!!!

My resolution is to loose weight also. I joined a gym about a week ago and my first goal is to be “ready” for the Polar Plunge 5K at the beginning of February (it’s only a month but my goal is to at least jog the whole 5K). My end goal is to get down to 115/120 lbs for my wedding and stay that way!

If you’re somewhat new to running and that’s what you’re interested in doing then you should look into this program called Couch to 5K. I think it’s about 2 months long, but it slowly increases the amount of running you do so you work your way up to running a complete 5K. Here’s the website. π

I’d also reccomend signing up for a 5K or something athletic so you have a little extra motivation (as if a wedding isn’t enough!), but they’re also really fun too! Could be a nice little stress reliever.

I have a similar resolution as you! I am wanting to lost 20 lbs to feel amazing in my wedding dress in August! I have been busy with school but now that I’m finished the program I plan to get back at my half marathon training (have my 4th coming up in May!) as well as practice yoga more often! I’m looking forward to it! π
