so my new years resolution is to return to being a normal human being! I had an original walk date in my head by the end of Januray. my SO promised me on Christmas eve that it will happen in 2014 and its in the pipeline, it might be days, weeks or months. I’m ok with this. I had a friends wedding the weekend and was so happy for them but it left me feeling blue yesterday! Then when i woke up this morning I was just like this is ridiculous! I actually cannot go on being like this! I can’t let this take over my life!
1.stop being a crazy waiting bee!
2.make more vegetarian meals (ordered some new cookbooks) check!
3.get skinny…..again, (I say this every year!) this can wait until the 2nd of January I just ate a chocolate santa at my desk.
4.cut down on technology use. i’m putting away my phone, laptop etc when i get home from work with a limit to 30 mins per night. (i’ve already culled most of my friend list on facebook)
5.plant a cherry blossom tree.
6. Spend more quality time with SO. (we live together but we’re in a rut, so I’ve told him we’re becoming activity ppl from now on)
7. Get a new look-I’m thinking of cutting my long hair eeeeeek! I discussed this with my hairdresser last month and she thinks it will look great.
So anyone got any good new years resolutions out there?! lets here them and see if we stick to them!!

This year my only NY resolution is to be more understanding and less judgemental towards other people and their situations. I was kind of a catty bitch this year.

My New Years Resolution:
1) To relax more. I am going to trust in the process of life. SO and I have discussed marriage and it’s going to happen, but ‘when’ is hard to determine because it’s important for SO to finish school first and I support him in that.
2) To SAVE more. This was my New Year’s resolution last year, and I went from NO savings to having two savings accounts and refinancing my auto. I’d like to increase both savings accounts this year.
And that’s it! Happy New Year!

I don’t like to call them New Years Resolutions because I feel like those were made to be broken. 😛 Instead I have just some personal goals for 2014:
1.) Pay off my car (I know it’ll happen by October by the latest if I just make standard payments)
2.) Pay off my student loans (this one’s going to be a BIG challenge, but I’m going into the year with less than 1/3 of it left)
3.) Get my own place downtown (should happen if I’m good with saving money)
4.) Keep up with using my budget spreadsheet
5.) Find a new job downtown
6.) Dive head-first into my weight-training program
7.) Eat better
8.) Do a better job of sticking to my lunch pact (bringing lunch Mon-Thurs and only eating out on Fri)
9.) Spend less & save more (this builds on my fulfilling this year’s goal of starting a TFSA, RSP, savings fund, and maxing out my employer contribution-matching program)
So lots of money-related goals. 😛 But it’s a means to an end. I don’t want to bring any debt into my marriage and I want to save money for our wedding…or at least a platinum wedding band for my SO.
