Lovely Bride in Tribeca is great.

I second Lovely Bride in Tribeca–probably my favorite bridal boutique experience (it’s so cute!). I also liked Gabriella, which was very NYC boutiquey and had unique stuff.

You basically have all things bridal at your fingertips in NYC, which is both a blessing and a curse. Something truly unique you can do here (besides Kleinfeld, where I had a bad experience and would never recommend) is that you can actually go to the designer’s studio.

Do some research and figure out what your style is–Romona Keveza, Carol Hannah, Leanne Marshall–all their studios are in NYC and you can make appointments! You will definitely get an intimate and thoughtful experience when you go directly to the studios and you cean learn more about the gowns, good fit, possible customizations, etc. when you go designer direct.

ETA: To be fair though, we did have a lot of fun doing the whole Kleinfeld thing as it was certainly an “experience”–but in terms of trying to figure out what you like and making a deicsion, it’s super chaotic.

I loved L’Fay Bridal. Both my sister and I ended up getting our dresses there and neither of us expected to!

If you want to get an appointment at Kleinfeld for August, you better make it fast! They fill up VERY quickly. But it was the best experience EVER! Good luck, Bee! I wish I had more recommendations but I found my dress at Kleinfeld and it was my first time trying on dresses. Lisa was my consultant and she was an angel.

I reccomend Schone bride in Brooklyn. They are small, attentive and make the dresses in house. I second lovely as well. Personally didn’t love the vibe at Klienfields- was crowded with people who I think we’re hoping to get on the show / try on dresses at a famous shop.

It depends on style and budget a little bit as well.

I had a great experience in: Designer dress loft, Karen Willis Holmes, Pronovias, Lovely Bride but I didn’t love Klienfelds or Gabriella.

What designers are you drawn to?

I’m from bklyn and I’ve heard horror stories from RK and Kleinfeld. Buyer beware.

I only went to Kleinfeld’s on my trip to NYC, but I enjoyed it! I ended up getting my dress there. Enjoy & good luck!

I had a wonderful experience at Wedding Atelier. Their dress collection is beautifully curated and hanging out in the open – my stylist even let me look through each rack to make sure I tried on every single dress I wanted!
