There are SO many things to do in NYC.

Have you been before? How long would you go for? What sorts of things do you like to do? What budget are you looking at?

I lived in NYC for 5 years and loved it. The theater is fantastic, central park is beautiful, and there are SO many good restaurants and fabulous shopping.

So give us an idea of what you like and I’m sure we can provide plenty of ideas!

Are you guys into food? The options for food are endless. What about museums? The Museum of Natural History is always fun and I love the MOMA (DH hates modern art so I leave him at home).

Agree with KatNYC.  There’s almost an overwhleming amount of stuff to do here.  Can you let us know budget, what you’re interested in, how long you’ll be here, etc.

Go to a Broadway show, go to dinner at amazing restaurant/restaurants, do a harbor Circle Line Cruise, maybe take a day trip to the Hudson Valley like Cold Springs or to the Hudson Valley wine area. Take a day trip to the Hamptons and tour the vineyards there. Definitely visit the Cloisters up above the Bronx, hit the Met Museum for a day or MOMA. Do a West Village Walking tour and learn about the history of that area. Consider a day of HOP on/Hop OFF bus touring, which takes you to Times Square, Canal Street and other tourist areas. Do a Lower East Side food tour- visit Economy Candy, Katz’ Delicatessan, Donut Plant & Yonah Schimmel Knish Bakery. Uhm…I’ll keep thinking of stuff. I <3 my city, can’t you tell?

I love NYC!  I think it’s an awesome place for a honeymoon.  I went last spring and we didn’t have too much planned because you’ll find there’s always something to explore or do…even when you don’t have plans.  That said, I did buy two tickets to a broadway show and was NOT disappointed.  Also – you could spend DAYS in the park alone.  So be sure to schedule some good time there.  I also researched great sushi spots and other restaurants.  We walked over Brooklyn Bridge.  The sky is the limit in that city.  Have fun!

Here’s some things I can think of off the top of my head…

1. Set a day aside to do the “touristy” stuff like Times Square, Rockefeller Center, 5th Avenue, etc.  But don’t spend your entire vacation there.

2. Central Park is huge and beautiful.  Definitely check it out beyond Central Park West where all the tourists hang out.

3. Bronx Zoo!  Much better than the Central Park Zoo.

4. Museums!  There’s so many — choose one based on the kind of stuff you like.

5. For places to eat/go out, Yelp is like a bible.  I’m really into the speakeasy/speciality cocktail thing now, so I like to go to places like Black Market, Please Don’t Tell, etc.

6. For a nice dinner out, I’d recommend Stanton Social or Beauty & Essex.  These are my favorite restaurants in NY right now.

7. If you’re looking to go clubbing, the NY club scene is a little odd IMO.  Most clubs are in the Meatpacking District and Chelsea as far as I know.  Someone else might be able to give you better advice.  I stick to bars and lounges.

Where will your apartment be at?  And other other specific questions, feel free to PM me.
