Hello all, I am new to this website and I got engaged in New York, June 2011.
We are planning on getting married in June 2013 and we are having a new york themed wedding.
We have got a few ideas already on how to involve it. For example, apples in the centre pieces, i love ny tshirt shaped cookies for favours, tables will be named after our fave places – the central park boathouse being our top table (where he popped the question)
Now has anyone else got anymore ideas for us please?? I was also thinking of doing a card box that is new york themed but stuck on what i could do?!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! 🙂

I dont have any ides for a card box, but I saw some save the dates that looked like metro cards and I thought they were cool. Maybe you can have the skyline on your cake and invitations. And of course you have to leave the reception in a yellow cab!

@linnie_1989: I’m not having a NY themed wedding, but I am having a wedding in NYC. Our favors are going to be Black & White cookies which are pretty iconic to NYC. My fiance loves black & white cookies and the best B&W cookies are sold not too far from where we live. We’ll be giving those away as favors with a personalized wrapper.

For food, can you get NY style pizza and good bagels and lox in England? Def a skyline somewhere, maybe in your escort cards, I can see like a elegant line drawing of a sklyine on them. maybe pics of iconic buildings somewhere as well?
You could also spin it towards more of a vintagey NY feel, rather than an in-your-face tourist New York. I’d think maybe like, the Chrysler building for inspiration, and that kind of deco 30s-ish look. Black and white as colors, maybe some gold or red. That probably doesn’t help it’s just a starting point not a well thought out concept but maybe you can work with it!
