Hey wedding bee’s 🙂

I’m from New Zealand and getting married after 7 1/2 years together on 5 Nov 2016, yaaay. I know that is far away but I was just wondering if there are any other brides getting married here and if you have any budgetting/planning tips for me. I have found a 2 year wedding plan to help stretch out the planning but I still feel a bit lost, also budget wise I want to aim around $10,000 which my fiance thinks is crazy hahaha, guess he hasn’t seen a typical wedding budget. We are planning to have it in Whangamata, so it is a beach wedding too

Also just let me know how your wedding planning is going! I am super excited to plan and talk weddings all the time, I think my family and friends are getting sick of it!

There are only a handful of us Kiwi gals on here, but I know how you feel about driving people nuts talking weddings! lol
There is a fab Facebook group for NZ weddings which I’m part of and is really helpful:
Our wedding is in 3 weeks today! Eek!
Re: budget, be aware that it is very possible to go up to 2K over, so factor that in or be VERY strict with purchases.
Also start researching things now and think about what resources you may already have in terms of friends and family talents. Only our hireage and cake were outsourced to strangers in the end. Makes for such a special touch 🙂

MissBettsy: Oh thank you 🙂 I am apart of some NZ wedding groups on facebook too and love that lots of ladies are so helpful!
I am really consious of our budget but it’s so easy to get caught up in the wedding hype and “need” things that I don’t think we really need. It’s especially hard when others are getting married around you (we know 3, and they will be around the same time as ours) and you want to do things differently to them too.

EXCITING! 3 weeks is so soon! and it’s gorgeous weather these days. Your wedding date is pretty close to the date (not year obviously haha) that we’ve chosen. I hope it all goes wonderfully and it’s a beautiful day for you guys 🙂

CeceJadee: Hi Cece! Congratulations on your engagement! I’m also in NZ and we’re also having a long engagement. I know we’re going to be in strict savings mode for the next two years – hopefully we can make it all work in the end.
