Hello fellow Bees

My name is Jessuina but most people call me Jessa.

My fiance and I have been together almost 5 years and got engaged October of last year.

We won’t be getting married till next year which gives us time to save up and plan everything without (hopefully) getting too stressed out in the process. We’ve only picked the date but are real close to locking down the venue.

Our colors are red and silver but we don’t really have a theme set up yet. We are both major geeks so we want to incorporate some geek stuff into the wedding but we are not dressing up as comic book characters or having a klingon marry us or anything like that.

My mother was actually afraid we would do something like that, lol.

Hi,

I am so happy to be writing to you all! I don’t usually have much time to post but I am home on a sick day so I thought it would be a good time to do so.

My fiancé and I actually met on match.com. I never thought that I would find true love that way but it really did work for us. We have been together for a little more than two years now and we live together.

My fiance asked me to marry him last July but we decided to take our time on wedding planning so our wedding will be in May 2013.

Before I was engaged I had won free engagement photos by entering a contest on facebook. I thought I would try to win just for fun and low and behold I did. My fiancé (boyfriend at the time) thought we could just get pictures taken for fun so we decided to take them. We got the pictures taken and I didn’t think anything about it. After we drove back to our town we live in we decided to go on a walk at a park. He decided to take me to the park that we had our second date at. We started to walk and once we got to the bridge he stopped and looked at me and asked me to marry him. I could not believe it! I had no idea he was going to ask me because we only had been dating a year and a half. He told me that he had the ring in his pocket the whole time! I asked him why he didn’t do it during the pictures he said that he just didn’t feel there was the right moment like he thought it would be.

So that’s my engagement story. I think it’s kind of cute.

We are having a Catholic wedding ceremony and then we are having our reception at the casino in town. The wedding colors are black and white with red and zebra print accents.

The thing I am most scared about is going wedding dress shopping. I am a plus size bride and I nervous that I won’t be able to find much to try on.

I’m excited to hear everyone’s wedding planning stories. I think the journey to the altar is the best part! (Besides marrying the love of your life!)

Hello Ladies!!!

I’ve been lurking for a couple of days now, and I have to admit this has been my favorite wedding website by far! I’ve been able to get some great ideas and I’ve loved how supportive everyone is!

My name is Isnaya. I got enagaged in June, but just recently started the heavy wedding planning. We decided on a destination wedding. The big day is on October 27th of this year in Punta Cana, DR. Planning a destination wedding as been very stressful! But I guess any thing is worth it sense I’m marrying a pretty special guy that makes me very happy!

I plan on doing a lot of DIY projects so hopefully you can give me some feedback when I start posting things up!

Happy to be a part of the hive and look forward to chatting with you all soon!Smile

Hi everyone! My name is Jenni and my fiance is Ross. We met in early 2008 when he starting hanging out with some of my friends from a fraternity. He ended up joining that fraternity (I was also in a sorority). We hung out a lot but he was always just a good friend until one day I realized what I was looking for was right in front of me! So we started dating in November 2008. We got engaged May 26, 2011 and our wedding is March 23, 2013.

Time to go do some lurking and maybe some posting πŸ™‚

Hi everyone.
My name is Ines, I’m 24 and from Austria and I guess I’m a newbee! πŸ™‚
I got engaged on December 25th.
My wedding date is just an estimated one, we haven’t set one yet, but we’re aiming for 2013, 2014, the latest!! We honestly don’t know yet, since we’re having a long distance relationship (as you can see, I’m from Austria and my fiancé lives in the States, in Colorado!)  and there’s tons of other things we have to find a solution for before we can really dive into the wedding preperations. But I’m giving him some ideas already and we’re working on getting everything solved as soon as possible (hopefully by next year the latest!)!
So much about me for now….if you have any questions, feel free to ask! πŸ™‚
πŸ˜€
Looking forward to getting to know you and reading about your weddings/engagements and anything else you wanna share πŸ™‚
Greetings from Austria!

Hello all. I found this site while researching moissanite engagement rings and I love all the support and encouraging words here! This is my first post πŸ™‚

I’m 24, work in the fashion industry, and live with my boyfriend. We’ve been friends for 5 years and dating for 2. Although he gave me a promise ring a year ago, we are not engaged yet, but we openly talk about marriage and have picked a wedding location. He recently gave me the go-ahead to e-mail him the links to some e-rings I was interested in, so I am very excited for that πŸ™‚

I’m also excited to be a member of the Hive πŸ™‚ Feel free to ask any questions, and nice to meet you all!

I never did this, so now is as good a time as any.

I’m 28, and a PhD student in Classics.  I am *supposed* to defend and graduate this summer. We’ll see.  I met my FH while I was in high school, about 12 years ago.  He had graduated from the same school the year before, but we didn’t know each other.  Anyway, 2 years later, we dated some over the summer before I went to college, but it didn’t go anywhere.  We continued to hang out (some sometimes hook up) over the next year or so when we were in the same place and both single, but it never got serious.  Then I met ex-husband amd things between me and FH swiftly moved to the friends-only categorty.  We sort of stayed in touch, which got easier once facebook was invented, but it was very superficial.

Ex-husband and I dated for a few years, moved in together when we got engaged, and got married about 2 years after that, and it was a mistake from the moment we said “I Do.” Our Honeymoon was awful, married life was awful, but he would NOT talk to me about it.  He wouldn’t even acknowledge that we were having problems–even though we clearly were and I had tried to talk to him a thousand times in so many different ways–until he told me he wanted a divorce.  By that time, his mind was made up and he wouldn’t consider anything else.  We lived together for another 10 months like that since neither of us could afford to live alone until he finished his MBA and moved away.  I had basically been “married” for almost 2 years, but I had not been in a reciprocal relationship for any of that time, and during the last 10 months or so, I was basically single without the benefit of being able or ready to date.

After we separated (we’d formally get divorced 7 months later), I moved my things into my new place and then went to my hometown for 7 or 8 weeks until I had to return to resume teaching and study.  I hung out with FH one evening and we ended up making out on the beach.  About 6 or 7 weeks later, we decided to date exclusively, and then about a month after that, he moved up here and in with a friend of his who was jsut starting graduate school.  We moved in together a year after that and got engaged July 3, 2011.  I feel so blessed to be so happy and to be with someone who communicated with me and puts our shared life and our shared goals before any personal agenda.

Our wedding is March 3, 2012, on the beach in Fort Lauderdale. TOES IN SAND! I absolutely cannot wait.  It’s so soon!  All the big things are taken care of, but there are a lot of details to still work out and a lot of people to still pay.  We wanted a super small affair, but our parents wanted the full deal, so we’ve invited 111 and are having a full reception.

Hi there! I got engaged on September 9, 2011 and we’re getting married on June 16, 2012 at a local winery! We’re aiming for a small wedding…no more than 120 people; most likely 100 tops. Got the dress and flowers, my fiance’s doing the invitations (he’s an art teacher), and we have friends doing photography and DJ duties. Big things left include food and cake….I can’t wait until we do that! Other details include favors, wedding bands, other stationary, and gifts for my parents, sister who will be Maid/Matron of Honor, my neice the flower girl, and my fiance! Oh boy! Welcome everyone and happy planning!

Hi I’m new here. My names Stacey and I have a very interesting relationship with my husband to be Dominic. We met online 4 years ago, he lived in San Diego Ca and I live in Toronto Canada. After 2.5 years of him asking me out and me rejecting him because he didn’t even have a job and there would be no possible way for us to be together he joined the army.  He got sent to basic training on Valentines day and flew me down for his graduation where i met him in the flesh for the first time. Now almost a year after his enrollment into basic training we are planning a quiet and cheap wedding. Sadly after our wedding I will have to return to canada and wait for US immigration to allow me to legally live there. πŸ™

Hi, everyone! I’m a brand newbee. My name is Amanda and I’m 25 yrs old. I got engaged on December 19, 2011. We are planning a wedding for September 8, 2012.

My Fiance and I have been together for 5 years. We met when we both lived in Maine. I was a barista and he worked retail, his store was next to mine and would come in to get coffee on his breaks. I was quickly smitten and would draw funny pictures on his receipts, until he finally asked me on a date.

We live in his home state of Vermont, currently. We have a little dog (who won’t be little for long! He’s a labrador) named Ebenezer.

He proposed to me on his father’s birthday, with his mother’s engagement ring. It’s really very senitmental, as he was extremely close to his mother. She passed away about 10 years ago. That he would give me her ring means more than I could explain.

I decided to take on the insane task of planning this wedding, beginning to end, on my own. I didn’t realize how intense wedding planning could be! I am having fun, though an dI think everything will come together nicely. I’m excited, both for the wedding and also, to finally be married and start the next chapter of our lives.

I look forward to getting to know all of you!

Hi All!

My name is Nicky and Fiance and I are getting married this coming August 4th, over the long weekend.  We have been engaged since December 2010.

We’ve got most of our planning finished but we are trying to keep the mantra, “keep it simple and stress free”.  We are planning an outdoor wedding on the lake with bbq reception.

SOOO many of my questions have been answered here!  Really great as my family consists of my younger sister and father: not many people to ask advice from.

Thanks for all the help so far!
