- Wedding: June 2013
Hi Bees,
I have been reading this board for a while now and I think it is time to officially say hi! I’m a June 2013 bride living in nyc and have been coming here to randomly look up advice/gawk at your amazing dresses. This seems like such a sweet, supportive community and I think it will be great to have somewhere to share my excitement. I think I am wearing my fiance and family out with my wedding energy levels lol.
I am planning a sort of unconventional wedding. My fiance and I met while living in Israel and we wanted to go back there for our inimate, religious, outdoor wedding. I originally was happy with it just being immediate family and 2 girlfriends of mine. That was all I expected with the price of airfare and the long trip and it sounded perfect to me. Fast forward 6 months and many family discussions/fiascos later..and I am now having a large reception, with a civil ceremony in Manhattan as well so that everyone can be included. I’ll spare you the details of how we eventually decided on this, but it is happening! I am essentially having 2 weddings-one religious and one legal. Don’t ask me the logistics of how this will work or if either one will feel like THE “special” day..because I have no idea
Here are pictures of my dresses. Yes..I have 2!
This is my cereomony dress. It is definitley not what I thought that I would wear and I have had some crazy regrets (despite loving this dress to death on other people). Everything else I loved was very fitted and lace. I think this will look much better when it is altered/the bottom is “fluffed out” the right way. Right? I said YES before I even saw a picture because I just felt so excited about it and my dad cried.
This is dress #2 (for NY). It is unaltered and not pressed. I found it on ebay for very little since my dress budget was gone after the 1st purchase.
This was probably the longest, most rambling newbie post ever. Sorry! I look forward to chatting with you girls and hearing about your plans 🙂
