Welcome! FX your stay here is short and sweet.   Try joining the POAS board once you are ready and once you sign up on FF join the Charters Thread….we love stalking each other’s chart and if ever confused about it, its the best to ask questions….GL 🙂

@runningcali:  Hello! I’m a bug BIG lurker on these boards. Some info that helped me out when I was new to the whole TTC thing:

Acronyms are not mandatory, but are useful to know, and do help to shorten your own posts / replies.

TTC : Trying to Conceive

BD: baby dance – aka SEX (No need to by PG here)

BFP/BFN : Big Fat Positive / Big Fat Negative

AF : Aunt Flow ( your period)

OPK : Ovulation Predictor Kit

CM : Cervical Mucus

EWCM : eggwhite CM (good fertile stuff)

CD: Cycle date

CDPO: Cycle date post ovulation

2WW: * 2 week wait (post ovulation)

BBT: Basal body temperature

PG: Pregnant

O: Ovulating / ovulation

ENDO: Endometriosis

PCOS: Polycystic ovarian syndrome

MC: Miscarriage

MFI: Male Factor Infertility

LPD: Luteal Phase Defect

DH: Dick Haver or Designated Humper! (Or Dear Husband, if you insist.)

@runningcali:  charting while on BC is useless because the BC is controlling your hormones. you can start temping now if you just want to get in the habit of doing it but it won’t produce reliable results.

@runningcali:  Charting on BC won’t help because your temps are impacted by your hormones (progesterone spike after ovulation is what causes your temperature to go up, and is what maintains higher temps if you get pregnant).  If you’re on hormonal birth control, it will be a waste of your time until you get off.

I’m going off the pill at the start of July, and will start charting right after.
