solnishko1186 : We had a few night gowns but I didn’t like them- my son ended up kicking his feet out of them and he’d get cold. We did footed sleepers and then a SwaddleMe. It wasn’t the most efficient for diaper changes but it kept him warm and sleeping. If your babies don’t like being swaddled the night changes will definitely be easier, although Halo sleepsack/swaddle combo seems like a winner. Congrats on your twins!

We only were able to use the gowns for the first month, if that. Once my son started getting the little thigh rolls, I ditched the gowns because it felt like I was hurting him when I rolled them up to change him… the elastic seemed to cut into his thighs. He lived in footed pajamas for a while. Zippers are a lot easier to get on and off, but as a PP said, the snaps expose less of the body for diaper changes, but my son was also a cold weather infant so I was more conscious of keeping him warm. I can’t say enough good things about Halo Sleep Sacks. My son didn’t like being swaddled, he tried to kick out of it once he was a few weeks old. I switched him to the sleep sacks pretty early on and we have the best sleeper ever.

Thank you ladies for all your input – very helpful. Sounds like majority like the footed zipper pjs, gowns, swaddles and halo sleep sacks. I have a TON of the footed zipper sleep and plays/pjs (they are called so many things), so at least covered there. Also have a ton of swaddle me velcro swaddles – I think I will try and used them before buying halo ones (don’t have any halo and we spend a ton of money on other wear, so unless it is really needed I want to try and utilize the swaddle-me). We live in FL, so the cold is definitely not a concern (we like to keep the house cool, but can always adjust). I will try if babies like to be swaddled, and if the do will do either onesie and swaddle at night or gown and swaddle and do the footed zipper pjs during the day – thinking footed pjs and swaddle for night time might be too hot.

i hated the night gowns. i recieved a few as hand me downs. i thought they were cute, but they were a pain for diaper changes. when i pulled the elastic up to access the diaper, i thought the elastic was too tight around DS’s body and he was a premie. (not on the growth chart until 6 months)

solnishko1186 : I did! I loved the nightgowns, made it so easy to change baby at night. And they’re elasticated at the bottom so baby feet stay contained and warm. I put socks on DS as well with the nightgown.

I only used the gowns during the day. I don’t think they are warm enough if the legs sneak out. You don’t need to be saving THAT much time. Zipper anything over snaps though.
