- Wedding: June 2012
I was going to wait until I had more pictures than just the sneak peak (and guest photos) to write this but I have a hard enough time choosing which photos I like the best out of the few I have so here it goes! Apologies for the many pics ahead!
I had a blast on our wedding day. So many people commented on how calm I was. Our programs kept getting put off and put off and on the day of when I still hadn’t got them done, I thought, oh well. No big. And it wasn’t.
I was up bright and early on the wedding day. It was overcast but eventually cleared off, but was windy. I met my ladies at the salon at 9am and we were there until about 12:30 (there were 7 of us!). We all went back to my parents, had a bite and they got ready. I waited until my (awesome) photographers came at 2:00pm to get ready and within a half hour I was dressed and there’d been tons of photos taken.
The necklace from my husband:
And we were off to get onto the Party Bus that was taking us to the ceremony!
While we were waiting for our entrance, one of my bridesmaids had her boyfriend take an iphone picture (below) and while we were gone for photos after the ceremony, she had him get it printed and into a frame which was at my spot at the head table!
The ceremony was excellent. I am atheist and hubby is Baptist and he wanted his pastor from the church he grew up in Regina. So we flew him down and I couldn’t be happier. He knew Evan already and got along great with everyone. The ceremony had the best of both worlds and wasn’t overly religious. Our venue was HOT though. The pastor was dripping and hubby and I were both sweaty as well. It was about 20 minutes though so it was ok. We heard so many positives about the ceremony.
You may notice below that his ring isn’t on all the way. Mine wasn’t either. Our fingers were swelling up with the heat!
Then we were off to probably the most fun I had all day, the photos. Are photographers were amazing! If you’re getting married in Newfoundland, head to JenniferDawe.com.
Then we went to George Street, a famous street in St. John’s of all bars and went to O”Reilly’s Irish Pub for pictures and drinks and had tons of fun.
My motherin-in-law took this. It was on Signal Hill. It was a windy day but even worse up there!
And lastly, our awesome first dance! We took dance lessons and kept this a secret from everyone. It was a hit and it was awesome. We were so concentrated on doing it right that I forgot everyone was watching!
Sorry again for so many pictures, they were just so hard to pick through and I love sharing them!
