@Songstress_7:  Congrats and welcome to the Hive! Don’t worry about the stares. It’ll ease up after a bit. I get some stares with mine. Most people have been congratulatory regarding it; others not so much. Just be prepared for the rude questions concerning price and specs. My go-to is “I don’t know; Darling Husband picked it out.”

There’s nothing wrong with how you’re feeling now. The way people act now will ease up. I don’t think I have an exceptionaly large ring for wedding bee standards, but for my area it is much larger than the average. I’m an RN and people at work said things like I shouldn’t be wearing it at work since it was so big because it could get mess up. Personally, those comments really bothered me because I didn’t ask their opinion. And that’s why I have insurance. Also, people I work with would come up to me and say things like I heard about your big ring, let me see it. It made me sooo uncomfortable! I picked the setting and the stone seprately, so I didn’t realize how big it would look all together. But slowly the negative comments have died down. Now, I typically get very nice compliments on it from my patients. So, don’t worry. It will get easier. You shouldn’t feel bad about the size of your ring. It should be about what you like, can afford, and the meaning behind it.

Your ring is absolutely lovely! Do not worry about what others say. People are people and would react both positively and negatively to others and what occurs in their lives. The most important thing is that you love your ring and your Fiance wanted to be absolutely sure that you loved your ring by allowing you to pick it. Hold your head up high and walk with confidence. Love what you chose and know that your beloved Fiance is proud that you said yes. The self -consciousness does go in time. Enjoy the moment!

Honestly, people can be so tacky and weird about your ring.  As long as you love it and are comfortable with it, then forget them!  Everyone is so different so just make yourself happy πŸ™‚

I just got engaged too! Congrats! I think I’m constantly thinking about my ring because it’s new and I love what it means. I think most people are probably staring because it’s kind of a unique design and you already having it on your mind makes you self.conscious. it’s gorgeous and I don’t think it’s too big. Congrats and enjoy it!
