(Closed) Newly engaged! Do you sleep/shower/do dishes with your ring on?

I remove all jewelry before showering, swimming, etc, with the exception of my medic alert bracelet. And I always take off my rings and my watch before doing dishes.

I also take off my jewelry before sleeping – I don’t find it comfortable to sleep in, and I also learned the hard way that my cats will often try and play with the jewelry I’m wearing while I sleep.  Not fun to wake up because a cat is trying to bite your earring!

I have never taken my ring off for any of that stuff!  My ring is 100% fine despite wearing it 24/7.

If anything, taking it off so much seems like a sure way to lose it!  That happened to my coworker – beware!

I sometimes take mine off to do dishes and clean the kitchen, I have a jewellery tree right by the kitchen sink for that purpose. I usually shower and sleep in it, I only take it off to sleep if I’ve just cleaned it thoroughly and want it pristine in the morning.

It never comes off outside the house. It’s sized brilliantly so it doesn’t pinch, but is in no danger of coming off in water.

I follow the don’ts of the 4 S’s. I don’t sleep, shower, sweat, or swim with it on! I take it off if I’m doing dishes, or cokoing something like meatballs. I take it off at night and then put it back on after my morning shower. Works perfectly for me. About once a week while in the shower I’ll throw it into the jewelry cleaner while I shower to keep it sparkly.

I take my ring off when sleeping, showering, cleaning (anything – including dishes), working with my hands (gardening, working on the car), going to the gym. I have a stand in qalo ring

I never take my rings off. Horses, dogs, busy working life – they stay on.

I figured my ering has lasted 100 years thus far. They are insured for loss or damage. I waited a long time for my rings – ain’t taking them off!

I pretty much never take my rings off. The only time I’ve taken them off is if I was weight lifting or using weight machines, but that’s more of a safety issue for me than for the ring.

I do not sleep, or shower with it on. I do dishes with it on.

I always sleep with it. I only take it off to shower when I’m washing my hair because my ring tears up my hair like nothing on earth. I usually take it off while doing the dishes, but only because I wear gloves to protect my manicure 🙂 oh, and I take it off when I clean the litterbox, haha!

Married for a year on September 26th. I am under the impression rings are pretty durable. They call it ‘diomond tough’ for a reason! However, I personally only wear my rings when I am leaving the house or company is coming over. My reason being I’m just not comfortable sleeping/showering with my rings on. Plus I have eczema, so I like to let the skin breathe!

I don’t wear my ring while doing dishes, showering, sleeping, gardening, some cooking/baking(when it’s especially messy).

When I was first engaged, I would take it off for all of that stuff because I was nervous about damaging it.  A friend then pointed out that diamonds are incredibly strong which, yeah, they certainly are.  Now, I only take it off when I’m doing something with ground meat because, eww, and when I clean it.

I leave mine on for almost everything, but I do take it off for showering (it gets tangled in my hair otherwise), painting, and really messy cooking/dishes.

I don’t take it off for any reason at all, it’s 9k white gold with an aquamarine stone and so far no harm done to it 🙂
