I’m Jen and got engaged almost a month ago. We have decided on a summer wedding (next year) and a resort on the ocean in Massachusetts.
I’m looking for any and all suggestinos/tips/advice on anything/everything from:
centerpeice ideas (I was thinking colored sand in a tall vase with sea shells on the top) with the BIG sea shells as the “table number” place cards
Discount sites/catalogues to subscribe to
best online programs for DIY invites
ANY ideas for an evening wedding at a beach resort at all!!
Thanks to you all!! I also have another post as i am searching for a wedding gown I made a SMALL deposit on tonight and can not find the gown online AT ALL.
It’s a Lotus Orient gown and I was givent the style number of PR 5520 but found not a thing.
it is floor length, has a slit on the left leg, a hole in teh back.

An easy way to save money is to do a Fri/Sun wedding most vendors give discounts!!

For table #’s go here:
bridesmaids dresses, go here and do hand corsages instead of bouquets (see below):
http://www.jcp.com (do a search for Bisou Bisou Maxi dresses – see sample below – really good sale)
go to google images and do a search: oriental inspired wedding dresses – you may find one very similar. These dresses are a great look.
Go to Home Depot or similar store for a flower trellis and decorate yourself. Go to a craft sotore like Micheals for shells, and other beach decor. Home Goods should have inexpensive vases or go to efavormart.com
See attached inspirations to save you money! Send me an email as I have great sources for your invites, menus and other print items. Good luck! [email protected]

I just got engaged so haven’t yet gotten into the details you’re looking for… but where are you getting married? Summer wedding at the beach sounds fantastic!

Don’t know how beach weddings work, but with my wedding (garden) the best way to save is to cut down on guests, organise yourself without a planner, i can’t think of any more. If i do, i’ll post some more. Btw, that wedding sounds beautiful 🙂

WOW, thank you so much for the replies.
I feel terrible, I forgot the site that I posted on and just saw all of your wonderful and kind posts now 🙁
Budget doesn’t allow for a summer wedding, so it’s now Dec. 2013 at a beatiful venue specializing in winter themed weddings, which offers $25 off per guest
