Start with a budget do not pass go, do not collect $200 until you have determined your budget.

Then you can determine an approx. guest list

Then you can start looking for venues that will fit your guest list and your budget.

Everything else will pivot on those three thing.  You might look at one of the timeline lists on marthastewartwedding.com, weddingwire.com, or the knot.

@KChiapet31:   First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!

 And second, BREATHE!  You will be fine.  The first thing I did was talk to my Fiance about a set budget.  After that, I used http://www.herecomestheguide.com for venue search.  You’ll pick up things on what to do next.  Good luck!

@KChiapet31:  Congrats. It looks like you have more than enough time to plan your wedding, no rush.

My best suggestion to you would be to hire a wedding planner if your budget will allow. If it won’t, make room….not even joking. My planner has been a God send and without her I could see myself entering Bridezilla territory.

Congrats!  I concur that budget is the firstplace to start. Then a tentative guest list and things will fall together or show the gaping holes in your plans right away while you can still fix it without anyone knowing they got cut 🙂

@KChiapet31: Congratulations, you are not alone in this boat!! Think of an overall theme or look, budget strategically and narrow things down to your “must haves” and “wants”. You’ll be fine, I wish you the absolute best..
