When I was pregnant a ton of people touched my belly. Most people asked (and I let them) and those that didn’t ask got a death stare and a major arm block. I am a small person so my belly was huge towards the end and hard as a rock. Luckily people didn’t really start touching it until I was definitely showing. They would always say, “I want to feel her kick”. However, she was (and still is) extremely stubborn and would only kick for mommy and daddy!

I thought it would bother me because I am not a touchy person; however, it hasn’t at all.  I have not had any complete strangers rub my belly but co-workers, family, church family, etc.  I know they all mean well and are excited for me!

I’m 38 weeks and it doesn’t bother me when my Mom or sister touch my belly. However I had one of my customers at work touch my belly and it freaked me out! I don’t know this person well and it was just so awkward! People seem to get extremely excited about babies and the automatic reaction is to reach out and touch the belly. No people that’s not ok- ask first!!

shanbp:  I think I’m going to make this shirt.  I’m not keen on being touched by strangers.

Nobody has tried to touch me. And I don’t think anyone will. I’m very much anti touch as it is. My husband has kissed my tummy a couple times And my two sons are so much more loving to their mommy now. My oldest will randomly just put his hand on my stomach without thought. But… anyone but those three try to rub my like a genie and their loosing a hand.

I’m only 14 weeks and I had a random retail worker touch my stomach when I was talking to her about baby furniture. It was weird but didn’t bother me a whole lot. I actually feel weirder about in laws constantly asking me whether I have a bump yet or making comments that it’s getting bigger. Not sure why it makes me uncomfortable but I just don’t like people talking about my bump growth for some reason!
