Ovulation Predictor Kits are test trips that you can pee on throughout your cycle and it will tell you when you are about to ovulate. They are next to the pregnancy tests at the store or you can order online.

Best of luck and welcome!

@TheJeanses2012:  I didn’t use OPKs or temp or do any of that stuff. I took a wild stab at when I might be ovulating based on my period and a few simple calculations using an app on my phone, and voila. Baby.

Doctors will usually tell you to try a year using natural methods, ie the calendar, before you start investigating fertility aids. Obviously, OTC methods are not a big deal and you can use those, but seeing as they can be expensive and sex is free, why not just have fun? It can also get old fast to have sex according to pee sticks!

@TheJeanses2012:  🙂 Starting to finally get excited as I’m nearing the end of the first trimester. It has been scary!

Read TCOYF!!!! =) I haven’t yet, but I;ve heard nothing but good things. I’ve been charting using fertility friend (app on iPhone) who had allll the tutorials built into it. Check it out!

I second Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It was the first book I bought when we started TTC, and its amazing how much I didn’t know about the whole process. Plus, she’s got a whole whack of simple explanations for things that seem more complicated.

Good luck!
