On our first Christmas together I made Cinnabons for breakfast and short bread cookies on Christmas. We do this every year now.

We definitely love making and decorating sugar cookies together.  We’ll probably be at home too so we’ll do a lot of our stuff before making the trip.  Last year we were at his parents’ house and didn’t have much time around Christmas to have our own little Christmas time.  He wakes up at 5am on Christmas still so he woke me up and we had an hour or two alone to exchange gifts before spending time with everyone.

My fiance and I have been together for 3 1/2 years(we lived together since day one..I moved to his state to be with him) so I started the tradition of getting us a Tree ornament every year, His daughter a tree ornnament. So we’ve got some traditions.. I use to watch the parade every Christmas morning, I’d like us to do that.. I think its great you’re so excited! I hope you have a magical Christmas with your husband!

This all sounds really sweet!

Our first married Christmas together was last year. We got our first married ornament that says Mr. & Mrs. 2010 ๐Ÿ™‚

We also bought all three of our cats a stocking that said Perrrrrrfect Christmas. This year we need to buy our dog one. (Just got here this year.)

We watched Christmas movies, also. The one we watch EVERY year is A Christmas Story.

We put the tree together, ect.

This year I want to start doing the following:

Make an ornament or buy a special ornament like our newlywed ornament.

Start building our Christmas town. (Example in the picture below:)

Make Christmas cookies.

Watch A Christmas Story & other classics.

& When we have kids:

We will let them open one present on Christmas eve after making cookies (being the biggest present) from us.

Then on Christmas day get all of the other presents out of hiding & put them under the tree. Eating/drinking the cookies & milk, then leaving a letter to them from Santa. Then let them wake up surprised! ๐Ÿ™‚ All of those gifts will say from Santa.

@PinkMagnolia: You could buy a special ornament each year. We are going to start our Christmas town this year. So you could do that & buy a new little house/building for your town each year. ๐Ÿ™‚

Also on the bottom of each new piece you buy for your town you can take a marker & write the year you bought it. ๐Ÿ™‚

@PinkMagnolia: Oh my! Well kids will be kids. I guess I would think that too. I would have guessed they had been mean that year or something.

I don’t even remember when I figured out Santa was fake. lol

Oh, just thought of another one. You could buy a new Christmas mug or a new Snow glob each year!

We (Mr. LK, teen LK, and I) chop down our own tree every year at the tree farm, each person gets to choose a new ornament to add to the tree each year, and this year we are taking one of the bells that was used during our wedding ceremony and turning it into an ornament to celebrate our wedding. We also visit the drive-thru festival of lights in our community, which must occur while listening to christmas music and drinking hot chocolate with mini marshmallows. Oh, and we always go see some sort of holiday-related performance. This year I think we are attending the symphony’s holiday concert.

Our first Christmas together was last year and we did get an ornament for that. Since this will be our first married Christmas, I’d like to get a Mr. and Mrs. ornament as well. I also want to get stockings for us and our cat this year. We are planning to have our first Christmas party at our place too.

Since my Husband’s birthday is on Christmas Eve, I also make it a point to celebrate that seperately.

My husband is really excited about decorating for Christmas this year. We bought our first house this spring, so we finally have space to decorate. I started making a Christmas wreath last night and we might even get a real tree.

Unfortunately, we also need to get a shockmat for around the tree because we have a very rascally 3yo cat that still acts like a kitten.
