October weddings are the WORST for weight gain, IMO. There’s the standard 5-7 honeymoon pounds – then the holidays hit! By the new year, I was up 15.
To this day I haven’t reached my ‘wedding’ weight… I’ve been close, but never reaching it.
Is it true what they say: you’ll never be as thin as on your wedding day?!

Ugh yes, +10lbs here. It’s driving me crazy!

Ive gained about 17 pounds since marriage, which is a big deal for me because I had maintained the same weight since highschool. Ive been hitting the gym 6 days a week now, eating better/increasing fruits and veggies and counting calories. Ive lost 6 pounds so far, but its been rough lol

I gained 15 pounds since last June!

I should really try audiobooks.. Since I’m not the type to sit down and read, that might be great for me. There’s only so many times I can listen to the same CD’s I have over and over again. My husband just got me a Van Halen CD so I’ll stay more awake at the wheel, but it’s not working.. lol..
It’s such a coincidence that you live in Texas.. The owners of a company my husband used to work for are out of Texas,.. but they have an office here & I think one in California.. Well right before the holidays, he knew something was up… So he goes I really think they are going to shut this one down and see if any of us want to relocate! LOL But I just asked him, he said the owners live in Fort Worth. They did shut down the company here, but he’s not sure if anyone was asked to relocate. He wasn’t, but sometimes I wish he was asked. I would certainly pick up and move in a heartbeat. It’s not like I don’t like it here, it’s just the cost of living is too high!
We actually went to Austin one summer.. What stinks for me in relocating to a new state is that I’ll have to get certified all over again since my teaching cert is only for NJ. And I’m not even sure what I’d have to do lol… I guess I’m stuck in NJ for the time being..
So I’m going to really try and lose these 14lbs by the time summer gets here, even though that’s the season I seem to gain weight quickly cuz I’m off and up late snacking! ARG!! Hopefully we’ll have a few dogs by then so I can run around with them for at least some form of exercise

Glad I’m not alone. I have probably gained about 10 lbs. x_x I stopped weighing myself BEFORE the wedding because I was being hard on myself so it’s hard to know exactly, x_x. But yes. I’m right there with all of you. We eat really well too but we don’t move around as much, lol. We play wii or snuggle and watch shows together. I blame part of it on the holidays because I always gain some weight and they of course came right after our October wedding, lol.

Yeah this is SO me right now. I’ve put on weight and for some reason it’s gone on completely differently!? It used to sit on my stomach and now it seems sit on my hips!? STRANGE!
Everyone says they don’t notice it but I can FEEL it, all my clothes feel more snug, I actually starting blaming my clothes for shrinking in the wash. Oh dear.
I knew that following the wedding I’d relax my fitness routine. I was going at it hard 4/5 times a week and said NO to every tiny treat on offer. I had to be good over Christmas because we had our honeymoon in January and I almost feel like I “deserve” to be more laid back about my weight. Except now, I feel like it’s starting to get me down.
Will be joining you all ont he other thread!

It happened to me too! Dropped off after a year, though, so I wouldn’t sweat it. Your body is just going through adjustments right now and should eventually level out a bit.

Totally what I’m going through right now. Wedding was in Oct and I’ve gained 25 pounds since!!! I’m 5’8 so most ppl say it looks like I’ve only gained a few pounds but I can totally tell in my face.. FML!!
thinking about doing Crossfit.

Ugh, count me in as well! In our honeymoon pictures, the first 2 days in a bikini I have a 6 pack…by the 5th day pictures I’m already 5lbs heavier (yay frozen alcoholic drinks and red meat every night!)…now about 2 months post wedding, there’s officially a keg in place of the 6 pack, haha. I finally just had to self-motivate to start working out again and thinking about what I eat (as of a week ago)…the fact that it’s only a few months until bikini season definitely helps (I somehow already have 2 different beach dates planned w/ friends even though there’s still snow on the ground!)

UPDATE: I finally stepped on the scale at my in-laws’ (we don’t have one at home), and I have in fact gained 20 pounds. In 5 months.
Yikes! But at least I know I’m not alone! I could have written so many of these replies….paying for gym memberships we don’t use, blaming the wash for shrinking my clothes, etc. Le sigh. I was probably underweight at our wedding, but that is no excuse for a 20-pound gain!! Heading over to the support thread now….

Plus, for many people they will be much thinner than usual on their wedding day. It is not necessarily the weight they need to maintain for life though to look good and be healthy.
