Aw it does take some getting used to ๐Ÿ™‚ consubstantial is just a better translation of the Latin I guess. I never understood what they meant by “one in being with the Father” so I didn’t mind the change.  It did take me forever before I could say it without looking at the pew card! I am still forgetting to say “It is right and just” vs. “It is right to give Him thanks and praise.” Old habits die hard!

@Magdalena:  Us too!  This morning, I messed up the “I am not worthy to receive you” vs. “I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof”. AUGH!

@prisigtr:  Yes they fixed the translation (apparently the one that was done in the 70s was reaaaaaally bad… like most things in the 70s hahah. It was the leisure suit of Latin translations). The other major one is instead of saying “and also with you” you say “and with your spirit.”

@Magdalena:  Oh wow, after having that drilled into your head in Catholic school, it will take a little getting used to.  After a while, it became like a song to me, lol (I know, that’s bad).  I honestly can’t remember the last time I’ve been to Mass, but it all comes back to you.  ๐Ÿ™‚

I got to church every week and I absolutely hate the changes. I still say it the old way regardless of what everyone else says. I know that’s bad, but I know it by heart the “old” way and I am resistant to chnage whaqt I already know. Maybe someday I will actually learn the new way, but not anytime soon.

@prisigtr:  I feel the same way haha. I better get to Church before I start to say the wrong things!

Agreed! I STILL say “And also with you” even though I’ve had sooo long to learn “And with your spirit”. I seriously look like the oblivious one in the pews.

I thought I was the only one who has been frustrated by the new changes.  Lately, I’ve been slipping up and using the old wording, then I get frustrated/embarrased because I messed it up.  Then I end up feeling guilty for being frustated with praying in church.  One of the things that I’ve always enjoyed about being Catholic is the consistency.  Needless to say, I am not a happy camper  right now.  We’ll see what happens next Sunday.

For me the worst thing  has been learning the new prayers. ๐Ÿ™ I have a bad memory, and even after a year  I still do not know all the new changes to the prayers very well. ๐Ÿ™
