@Laurenskii:  Ok. I don’t have one myself but I know someone who does. She had a small bruise for about a week, but it didn’t bruise up until the day after she got it. I don’t think you should be worried about FH’s family asking you about it if you do bruise up though.

I’ve had mine for just over a year now. First 24hr you have to wear a bandage wrap around your arm. I bruise like a peach so mine was kinda big but most people didnt notice or if they did they didn’t say anything lol (got it in July so I can relate!) my arm was sore for a while and every so often will get a random soreness but for most part no one ever knows its there. I would just do 3/4 length sleeves or a cardigan hope you like yours too!!

I have the Implanon (basically the 1st version of Nexplanon).  I had mimimal bruising at first so you don’t need to be worried about a big awkward bruise. I’m in year two now and there is a very tiny scar that no one would even notice unless I directly pointed it out. Also, it helps if you ice the insertion spot after you get it. Ice keeps the swelling down and prevents bad bruising.
Every now and then I get spotting and my periods are a little irregular, but I think it’s pretty much the best birth control ever. And since it was covered by my insurance, it cost a grand total of $20! So much cheaper than the pill.

Good Luck!

I spotted briefly.  I’ve had my monthly visit 3 times in a year lol I guess I’m only part of the 10% of people with this that it happens. But I’m not complaining! The big thing is I’ve noticed I get really emotional every so often lol I just have to remind myself when I get like that that I haven’t gone crazy it’s just my bc. That helps alot 🙂

I have it and I also had implanon before. I like it because you don’t really have to worry about it. I still have a bruise or at least you can still see where its at in a sense. But I would recommend it to pretty much everyone whose looking into it.

I’ve got it, too! It’s my second round (i think I had implanon the first time?).

Been on it over 2 years now. Periods came back to pretty much normal after 6 months or so but cramps are less than w/o BC. Bruise went down after 2 days or so.

@seabyme:  I’m RIDICULOUSLY emotional. Is that my BC? Shiit, I thought it was just me!! Hahaha, that makes me feel much better 🙂
