Could you host a cheap continental breakfast yourselves? Coffee, orange juice, and some bagels and fruit would do the trick. It’s great that you’re paying for so much of your guests’ expenses, but if you’re asking people to help you clean up from your wedding, I’d provide them with something to eat.

We are having a long-table lunch the day after the wedding at a family friend’s winery. We’ve extended the invitation to our families who will have travelled from the UK to be with us for the wedding (in Australia). We’ve explained that it’ll be a pay-your-own casual gathering from 1pm onwards. No one has batted an eyelid over the plate cost (expected to be between $25-50, depending on what they choose to order).

I think you could just be frank and honest with your guests- I highly doubt they will expect for you to front the cost of yet another meal for them!
