I am getting married on May 5th, we keep calling it an elopment because we are running away to get married, but maybe it’s more of a very private ceremony. We did have to plan it out in advance because of our schedules, and my parents and sister will be there, but we are running off to an old town I lived in years ago, and staying in a bed and breakfast. We had originally planned a huge goregeous wedding in June, but my inlaws saw to it to stand in the way. So, we had to start from scratch, but our small ceremony is ready to go.

MrsSapphireTopaz :  I know right,  I’ve never thought much about it,  I do usually RSVP however the invite says,  but fi and I knew going in that we werent going to get a lot of rsvps. The original plan was to call the late responders, but seriously it’s so many people,  that I’ve decided not to worry.  We already paid the caterer and set a number,  doing we have extra food,  that’s life.

OMG, can I complain about a sister?  My sister complained to my mom yesterday that my wedding plans are getting too elaborate.  Why?  Because we don’t have attendants,  and I got the bright idea last week that it might be nice if the nieces all dropped flowers in the 10 ft between the ring ceremony room and the reception room.  Seriously,  they rooms are across a hallway and this sister has no children and isn’t involved at all.  But I mentioned this idea to her and she disagreed and I ignored her and asked the sisters who have kids what they thought. They like the idea.

So since she was being ignored,  my sister complained to mom,  who called me and talked to me about making sure I had reasonable expectations for the reception. TBH,  I laughed a bit and explained why I ignored my sister’s objection. Basically,  her only objection is that it’s too late to ask my nieces to do this.  But IDK,  to me,  it’s a small thing.  I’m not asking them to dress differently, just get up and throw petals after the ceremony is over.  I know the girls would find it fun and remembering. TBH,  if it doesnt work,  i dont particularly care.  It’s not an integral part of anything,  just something I thought the kids would get a kick out of and a nod to the traditional flower girl thing we aren’t doing.

My only concern is how to get the girls to keep the petals and not throw them during the ceremony.. .

In any case,  I had a productive Sunday.  Net with the caterer today to finalize the menu.  Gave out a few invites from my hand-deliver stack that i kept forgeting at home. Met with parents to discuss logistics and setup and take down.  Bought boxes for the move to fi’s place. Met up with an old friend for a chat (one of the hand deliver invites)and ended up visiting for 3 hours.

You see, the problem with watching all these wedding dance Youtube videos is that I now kind of want a video.  I didn’t want one,  so we just booked a photographer.  Now,  my brother in law is a professional photographer and over to photograph the wedding.  I’m considering asking him to man the tripod and video the ring ceremony and beginning of the reception(welcome, dances, cake) and maybe the send off at the end.  I don’t want him to have to work during the reception,  but he’s pretty ADD and gets bored so easily,  I wonder if he would welcome me asking this as a favor as long as its not during the food and fun parts of the reception.

eurasianbee :  it’s just such a wonderful peice of music.  I mean,  I know it’s a movie score from a dinosaur movie,  but it’s just so beautiful.

Yes it feels so very strange and exciting to say my wedding is next month.  Most of my major payments are done whew! I just have small things like seating chart/escort cards cake topper etc to figure out.  I’ve had my shower and I will have my bachelorette in a couple of weeks its so unreal.  I need to do a hair trial even though im confident I will like the style I chose.

We set our rsvp deadline for last month so that it gave us and guests wiggle room and i’m glad I did because even though we have to follow up with a couple of people we still have time.  I really need to start breaking in my ceremony heels eek!

Mines May 12th! I can’t believe it’s almost here. I had my shower last month and my bachelorette is on the 20th this month. I’m still waiting on 90 out of 200 RSVPs and the cut off is this Saturday. I need to finish making my ribbon wands 😀

I picked up the rings today! Now I get to spend time resisting the urge to try mine on a dozen times a day lol.

Got more RSVPs today and my silk bouquet  came in.  This is just the starter version,  I’m adding silk bluebonnets and live baby’s breath, mint,  and rosemary.

Anyone else pick up their license yet?  The friend marrying the week before me picked theirs up last month. Fi and I are heading over to pick ours up this afternoon and I can’t wait 🙂

26th May here. Literally feel nervous at the thought. My hen do is nect weekend (fiance’s tomorrow). Most things are organised, just a few bits on the decorations and need to pay vendors in full. Had the hair and make up trial yesterday. Sounds daft but i’m quite panicky but i’m a very nervous person. I’ll be glad when all the planning is over to be honest!!

May 26th here as well! I’m finalizing some details with my church as we are having some hiccups with misplaced documents. But we got our marriage license two weeks ago, so that’s exciting! My bridal shower is this Sunday, and my bachelorette is the last weekend in April. I feel so behind a lot of things though….like I haven’t gotten the tuxedo rentals yet (I know, bad!). I want everything to be over with as well!

May 26th for us! Six weeks from tomorrow. We’re going to City Hall so there isn’t much to do besides make sure his suit and my dress are perfectly tailored.

In the UK the 26th weekend includes a day off on the Monday as a national holiday. It wasn’t intentional though as it was the last Sat of 2018 the venue had available! It also randomly happens to be my FPIL anniversary too!
