I don’t know of anyone to share a personal story, however, with a little internet searching I definitely saw alternatives to the chapel.  What did you search for phrase wise?

You could try the Intimate Venue search on IntimateWeddings.com

Niagara Falls Wedding Ideas

I bet most of the bed and breakfasts in that area have an elopement package if you want someone to take care of details for you.

(You could search for B&Bs first and then check to see if their webiste has an elopement package.  I like Google Maps for this too)

You could also just hire an officiant/marriage commissioner, and have your ceremony anywhere you want (if in the park itself, not sure if NF is a park on the Canadian side, check the regulations), then after the ceremony, get some nice photos and then go to dinner!

Also, another great way to see where others have eloped is to search for “Niagara Falls Canadian photographers.”  Then go to any photograher’s blog and search for elopement.  I love to see photos of places and what is better than seeing someone else’s elopement photos!

Tons of hits for elopement packages:

I just wanted to say good choice going to the Canadian side! It is much better (better view, more to do) than the American side. And, if you have a chance, visit Niagara-on-the-Lake. It is the cutest town, and there are lots of nice wineries around.

Sorry I don’t have actual elopement advice!

@cochinealred:  I don’t know if this is too late, but I too was researching elopement packages for Niagara Falls. I absolutely fell in love with Oakes Garden Theatre. You can rent the park and hire an officient, etc.. but I found a website by http://OccasionsNiagara.com that offer several different elopment packages (in a non-cheesy chapel, niagara on the lake gazebo, various parks) for about the same price/maybe a bit less than if you were to book everything on your own. This is definitely the route I am going to take and cannot wait!!!

Also, if you want to do the chapel route, you can go to any of the BEAUTIFUL parks for free to have your wedding pictures taken. Anthony Sobie is the wedding photographer that Occasions Niagara uses.. I recommend you go to his website and check out the various parks! 🙂

Hope that helps! If you have already found a place, I would love to know what you’ve found, as even though I believe my heart is already set, I am still open to suggestions!
