I don’t know of any places off hand, but it is gorgeous! I live about 40 minutes away and always love going there.

PS just did a quick Google search and found this! Not free, but really well prices ($125), and right on the water it looks like!

There is a park (Simcoe Park) across from Prince of Wales, it’s pretty nice, they usually hold the GIANT Canada day cake cutting there. I think that’s where the gazebo is but there is definitely one down closer to the water (Royal Park). There are also vineries in the area if that idea appeals to you, many have very nice outdoor areas. 

I don’t live there but I have visited many, many times.

Totally forgot, there are also the Botanical Gardens towards Niagara Falls.
