My SIL and her wife were able to do an 80 person outdoor wedding in a vineyard in Virginia (close to DC) for around $30K, I think. They cut costs by having a BBQ buffet, minimal flowers (the setting was beautiful, so there was less of a need for decorating), and wine only (the vineyard would only allow their own wine to be served and no liquor or beer). Our 80-person non-vineyard wedding in DC was around $60K because the venue mandated we use their catering for food and alcohol, we had a sit-down served meal, more decorations, and an open bar that was extensive. Like others said, it’s all about balancing what you want with your budget and expectations. Good luck!

ritaxoxo :  yes that’s the other thing that turned us off of those places, we wanna party! I know you want a tent but have you looked at stonewall estates in vineland? Super beautiful property. The price per person is abouult the same but includes so much more! It includes dj, decor florals and some other stuff. Definitely something to check out!

ritaxoxo :  I don’t think you’ll regret taking a look! I saved a lot going “off season” which for them is April to November. I still got outdoor picture and it was a sunny day 🙂 I did minimal decor because the venue is so ornate! I did floral center pieces, a few candles, printed materials by vista print or amazon!

Look at those floors <3 <3

The ceremony room wasn’t AS beautiful but I could live with it! Carpet isn’t great but love the walls and the fireplace.

anatheanalyst :  Excellent choice! Both those hotels are so beautiful and I was on the fence about Pillar or Prince – but then I picked my dress and my dress seemed more suited to the “gold room”
