I am getting married summer of 2014 and am in major need with help finding a venue in the Niagara Region.
My wedding is going to be very rustic and vintage with lots of DIY details. I want an outdoor setting, not a traditional banquet hall for both the ceremony and reception. My fiance and I want a non-religious ceremony so we want something outdoors.
I have been looking at Kortright- which is a 2 hour drive. We are going to see it this weekend- but we want to look for other places too since its far for our guests to travel and I haven’t exactly heard the best reviews. We love the idea of the ceremony in the forest though and the glass house.
I also love a place like Liuna Gardens, however my sister got married there last year so I don’t want to have mine in the same venue.
I have also checked out the Balls Falls Barn- but I think its a bit too rustic and dingy for me.. I love the feel of a barn wedding though.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I love forest, garden or barn weddings -and the location could be in niagara falls, niagara on the lake, vineland, st.catharines, jordan, wainfleet, anywhere really in the niagara region!!

I’ve been looking into some Niagara-on-the-Lake winery weddings myself after finding venue prices in Toronto to be way too high.
Some beautiful venues in the area are: Reif Estate Winery, Good Earth Food and Wine Co., and Ravine Estate Winery, and Chateau de Charmes (this one’s pricey though, $4000 rental fee). Those four places have the option of outdoor ceremonies as well as marquee tent receptions. Also, Kurtz Orchards looks super beautiful. You might also want to check out Hy-Hope Farms, Vinelands Estate Winery, and Caroline Cellars (they have an Event Loft which looks kind of barn like – all wood).
Here are some links listing other possible venues:
Hope this helps, please keep us updated on your research and let us know what you decide for your venue 🙂 Good luck!

I’ll second this poster! Just went this past weekend to view dozens of potential venue sites. Good earth is very pretty with a rustic feel. Check out hernder estates, miller house, or carriage inn… riverbend inn is gorgeous too.

@laurenjuliab: I’d love to know how you’re research is going.
I’m looking for somewhere in Niagara too….on a grander scale that can fit at least 300 with a great view and struggling. Anyone have any ideas?
