I went to Niagara a couple of years ago. It’s a fun place to visit. One of the oldest museums in North America is there. There’s a Ripley’s Museum and a fun Wax Museum too.

Have a great trip!

A friend of ours did that in October.  The pictures they took were breathtaking!  All the trees were sporting their bright orange and yellow leaves for autumn.  So picturesque!!

I heard that Niagra Falls is the #1 place in the country to get engaged.  Definitely a romantic spot for a honeymoon too.  Enjoy yourselves!  *jealous*  πŸ˜‰

niagara falls is awesome. you walk the bridge to cross the border from the states into canada. canadian side is way better with lots more attractions.

I live about 30 minutes from the Falls so I’ve been there at least 100+ times.

Maid of the Mist is worth it, behind the tunnel whatever it’s called is not. For that one you basically go into pathways that are behind the falls and you can see the water falling through the tunnels. Personally I preferred Maid of the Mist you got to sense the force of the water better, plus it was nice to cool off on a hot day! Bring a change of clothes πŸ™‚

If you want something a bit more laid back and romantic I would suggest Niagara-on-the-Lake (Canadian side). It’s a very short scenic drive from the Falls. There are also lots of vineries and vineyards in the are that do tastings and tours. I did one recently and it was $20 for 4 wines (just a tasting) and 4 appetizers. If you want to do something a bit more physical you can rent bikes and ride them along the path.

Let me know if you want to know anything else, I’m basically a tour guide for all my family that comes to visit here.

@Karen91602: Yes, we did!  We went for a week when our babies were 2 1/2 and 1, now they are 27 and 25.  We stayed on the Canadian side, it’s prettier and was more economical. Now I think you need a passport.

Yes you need a passport or a enhanced drivers license to cross the boarder to Canada now πŸ™ We don’t have either yet, it stinks wanna take the kid to Animal Safari and Marineland, also the falls are gorgeous! We live about an hour from the there and we don’t really go as much as we should, especially now with the passport needed. I think it would be a lovely honeymoon for you guys!

Oh yes, I learned the hard way – passport required now.  I think I went in 2005 and was just visiting a friend in upstate NY.  We didnt even THINK about passports and just said oh the Canadian side has a better view and just went on our way.  Getting into Canada… easy.  Getting back to USA… stopped at border for about an hour as they checked to see if I was a legit citizen,.
