Hi everyone, I’m new to WeddingBee and so excited to meet new people and discuss wedding stuff with everyone! I’m not engaged yet, but have reason to believe my man has purchased a ring, and could ask me the big question before the end of the year. In the past, I’ve told him I love the look of an asscher cut stone on a dainty bead-set diamond band (I have small hands). I am guessing the stone would fall into the 1 carat area as far as size goes, probably no bigger than that.
I’ve also noticed there aren’t many pictures of asschers on WeddingBee- I know it isn’t the most popular cut for an engagement ring, but i love the vintage, deco look of them. Of course, as any lady here would probably say, it’s not the ring that matters, and I know that, but to stop myself from sticking my nose into closets and drawers where it doesn’t belong, I’d love to see pictures of what a 1 carat asscher looks like on an actual hand. Thanks!

Hi! I just got engaged 2 weeks ago and got a BEAUTIFUL 1.01ct asscher cut. Originally i thought i wanted a thin band, and thats all i had tried on. The jeweller who made my ring convinced my fiance to set it in a lucida setting with a band of the same width as the diamond, on the assurance that it could easily be reset, and the band could be made much thinner.
Well, I immediately fell in love with my ring and now i would never change it in a million years! I love the thicker band and i honestly think that no cut sparkles like a good quality asscher. Mine is E colour and internally flawless. Fiance did really really good!
The picture completely does not do it justice 🙂

Oh, your ring is gorgeous! Congratulations on getting engaged! I was mostly curious to see what a 1 carat asscher looked like because I’ve heard they tend to look smaller than a different cut diamond of the same carat. Your stone looks big- yippee!
Thanks so much for posting and showing me your ring!
