Lets spread some positivity! Whats the nicest thing your SO has said to you? Or the most memorable?
Last weekend hubs and I were talking. He kissed me and said I’m the smartest person he knows. I told him I think thats a stretch lol. His reply was that I’m the only person he knows who would choose something more difficult for myself. He loves that I could have picked something easier, but went for the thing that was hard and scared me and I am doing it and succeeding. He said he doesnt know anyone who would challenge themselves like that.
(For context Im 2 classes from finishing a software development degree. I have zero coding/IT background so it was a big leap of faith to do this… but im doing it and nearly done!)

CONGRATS BEEE! What an accomplishment and I absolutley love that you challenge your limits. As everyone should.
I remember a lot of very cute, and memorable moments, but one off the top of my head was similar to yours. He had mentioned that im the only person he knew who has gone through what I have, bounced back, been knocked down, bounced back, and aside from being so resilient, i’m so thoughtful and resourceful in almost any dire situaton.
Huge compliment for me. He has said this in a very raw and intmate way privatey to me, and also in public to his friends when we were going out one night, and one of the girl’s sandal strap snapped as we were(literally) getting off our uber, and i quickly got my hair tie and wrapped it arund her sandal, so she could at least walk. Nobody noticed I did that until she thanked me, and thats when my SO said I was always so helpful and resourceful. He said it while staring at me with so much love lol.

When Avengers Endgame came out (Spoiler warning!) I was venting to my SO about how scarlet witch was willing to risk 50% of the world just to save her lover, Vision. My SO hadn’t seen it so I was explaining why she was being selfish and he goes, ‘Why? I would pick you over 4 billion other people.’ My first reaction was dismay of course, but once you remove the Thanos context, it was actually a very sweet thing for him to say.

A “I am so proud of you, you knocked it out of the park” after I had a really traumatic birth

This is super silly, but we’re both English teachers. He’s written me a few poems over the years. They’re my favorite gift, besides my e-ring. He’s a really great writer.

This sounds really silly, but I was a debater in high school and college and my Dh said to me recently, “You’re the only person I know who can actually discuss something impartially, even when it’s a really emotional topic for other people.” That was about the biggest compliment he could give me in my book!

The other day, BF told me I’m the highlight of his day. It was sweet especially since we’ve only been dating for 6 months and he’s not usually verbally expressive

my boyfriend and i were once talking about the challenges in his past when he said, “you have made me the happiest i’ve ever been.” i cried lol.

my husband likes to troll a bit, so take this nonsense with a grain of salt. So he’s developed this plan for when he rules the world that basically takes us back to gladiator days. The men fight to the death (or until one gives up) and the winner is ‘allowed’ to breed. The ladies get no midwife but instead go out into the woods and if they survive childbirth, being the baby back home to carry on that healthy genetic line or something. We don’t take things too seriously, so it’s a fun thing to ‘argue’ about, since we live in a society where that would never fly. (If this mortally offends anyone, sorry. It’s all in good fun and provides the context for his compliment)
so one day he was telling his ludicrous plan to a brother and I made a comment about how I wouldn’t have made it back from the woods (neither would his own mom). And he said “no, for you, all the doctors in the world.” He may not express himself much, and I may not often find it memorable, but that was so spontaneous and sincere, it stuck with me.
sidenote: If my husband ever runs for supreme dictator, vote for the other person.

I found out I was unsuccessful for a job that I really wanted and I remember he just hugged me and told me that they were crazy for not hiring me, as I was clearly the best person for the job and then just kept giving me a bunch of reasons why if he was an employer why he would hire me as his number 1 candidate haha. It was really cute.

Something that’s stuck with me: ‘I could kiss you all day’.

Mine tells me I’m the most beautiful even if I’m having such a terrible day and think I look like crap!

Me: Complaining about 30 being right around the corner.
Him: At least for a police description they’d probably say late teens/early twenties.

‘You’re a good mum’
It means buckets. It may even be the best thing someone can say to a mum entirely.

Anytime my husband mentions me being the best mom to our daugther or anytime he says I’m the best cook lol – words of affirmation is my love language 😉
