ClaudiaKishi: No, I have actually never see “Say Yes to the Dress”…never had a reason to be interested in watching before but now I am! Is it still on? Maybe I can track down the episode on You Tube. It’s definitely been a process trying to track one down but I was finally able to find one I might like. Had to have it flown in from NYC (I’m in LA) b/c none of the stores out here even had a sample. It’s the David Tutera “Shawn” dress. I already know I want it altered to have it sleeveless but other than that…it should be perfect as I wanted the higher neck + satin + fit n flare style. Anxiously waiting for the sample to get here!!

She suffered a wardrobe malfuntion

Too too much going on the arms are nice however I thnk the really high heavily embroided neckline with the poofy skirt is too much and then you add the lace on the veil as well

I think there’s too much going on but I can’t fault her for getting married in a princess dress at Kensington Palace. Getting married to a Rothschild seems like the perfect time to do it!

LVtennisgirl80: I think she looks amazing. I love the dress! She is elegant, demure, feminine, and that dress is a total show-stopper. LOVE love love the whole look.

It reminds me of a modern Grace Kelly dress. It’s not my personal taste, but I think she looks beautiful. But I will say I would wear that veil anytime, anywhere! Lol

LVtennisgirl80: Stunning, reminds me a little of Princess Grace’s wedding gown. I wonder how much it cost.

I think it’s amazing. That picture in the original post is unflattering.
“The gown was composed with three different tones of ivory and silver guipure richly embellished with crystals. The high neck bodice stitched to a precious balloon skirt ending with a three meter long train. Covered with a long veil is enriched all around the edge with a precious vintage lace.”

I think the veil was overkill, either wear a dress like that with a light tulle veil or a simpler dress with the mantilla, but both makes you look at the outfit more than the bride.
As far as Kate Middleton goes, she wore pretty much what every European royal has worn in the last ten or fifteen years. She wore a VERY classic dress. the issue here is in trying to make something classic and trying to avoid the Kate comparison which is relatively impossible.
Another point Is we aren’t seeing it in person. It photos it appears a bit heavy with the neckline and sleeves, perhaps in person it appeared more delicate?

I actually really like it I can’t see that it is royal wannabe I think it’s a nice very traditional looking wedding dress and she is a beautiful woman, I don’t see what people are hating on.

I think for nicky is a bit costumy. I think someone else could have pulled it off, but i prefer when a wedding dress speaks of someones personality. I mean kate middleton was groomed for a long time to be a future queen, her dress made sense. Nicky is a strong fiery business woman, so to dress like this just doesnt seem to fit her. I understand the setting of the wedding, but she could have mixed the class and modesty with something a bit more sophisticated.
