Does anyone have any experience with designing your own shoes at ninashoes.com?
I’m really tall and wear an 11 or 12 shoe so finding something with a low heel that is not completely hideous is tough. But the they are $125 and non-returnable so I’m hesitant. I’m considering the mint green to match my girls’ dresses but if they don’t work for the wedding, not sure if I’d get any use out of them.
@bigfatgrace: I just ordered mine about two and a half weeks ago. I’m in the same situation as you, I’m almost 6 feet tall and do not need to have giant heels so I can tower over everyone at my wedding
The shoes take a while to come in, but I made sure I tried on that style in a different colour before I bought them. Their shoes are extremely comfortable for heels. I would just recommend trying on pair that are similar just so you can be sure of the fit. You can also order a colour swatch kit for 10$ to compare the colours, then at the end if they don’t have a colour you want, you didn’t waste too much money. If they do have the colour you want, they deduct the 10$ off of your shoe purchase.
I can keep you posted when they arrive here, I live in Canada so it takes a while longer for them to ship than it would to you in the States. Hope that was a bit helpful.
Okay, new update: I ordered my shoes from Nina, the DYO kind, had them perfectly selected, etc. I went to pick them up from FedEx yesterday and they are SOMEONE ELSE’S (hiddeous) shoes. They are the Culver onse, and teal and black and covered in sequins. They are a siz 11. I ordered mine, the Evelixa ones, at 2.5 inches, all yellow, black sole, and white sock lining, in a size 9.5. Very unimpressed, I called them last night and dealt with one of the least helpful people in their call centre no doubt, and was told I would be getting a call first thing today with a solution. I waited, and didn’t get a call, so I called them, and they had all my information on file but had no solution, the lady this morning, who was much more helfpul, let me know that they would give me a call back in an hour for a resolution. I told her I would need my shoes in a week, I ordered them a month ago, and I don’t think that is at all unreasonable. She made it seem like that would be nearly impossible, but said she would look into it.
Three hours later, I still hadn’t gotten a call back. I was waiting to have a shower and to get some stuff done, and was sick of waiting by the phone, so I called them. It has apparently gone to “corporate” who will decide what to do about this. Needless to say, I am very frustrated and wish a solution would be found ASAP. What adds to the annoyance is that I had to pay cash on delivery for duties and taxes because I live in Canada. If I have to pay for shipping and then pay cash on delivery again, I will be sure to file a complaint. My bridesmaids all got their shoes yesterday from Nina and absolutely love them, and I am shoeless. I got Nina shoes because I had heard awesome reviews about them and I liked the fact that my girls could order different styles in the same colour. Irritating!
