I started using Nioxin number 2 about 3 months ago. It’s fantastic for me! I’ve been getting comments on how much thicker, shinier and healthier my hair looks! I think you should give it a try – if it doesn’t work for you, I’d be surprised, but at least you’d have tried something 🙂

@ChuckNorris:  Hey, I’d recommend visiting heralopecia.com for more info on women and hairloss. I have AGA (female pattern alopecia) and have very diffuse thin hair all over with lots of sexy scalp showing at the top which is why I wear hair! =D I tried nioxin before but other than making me tingle, it didn’t really help my hair. I use 5% minoxidil (rogaine) and that seems to have stopped/slowed the progression of my hairloss. You will shed even more during the first 3 months of using the product though as old hairs are shed to make way for newer, healthier ones.  If you need more help/info in this arena, feel free to PM me!

@ChuckNorris:  I understand – it was the most surprising comment the first time I heard it! Good luck!

I use it! I’ve been using it for 2 months or so now. My dr. recommended it. So far, it seems to be helping. I’m  noticing my hair falling out less and it seems healthier and stronger. I also have really thin hair, it’s just naturally that way. The biggest thing I’ve noticed about the nioxin, oddly enough, is that it has eliminated my dandruff completely.

I used it on my hair and it worked, my hair was coming out in clumps! I had a shampoo, conditioner, and some serum to put on my scalp if I remember correctly.

My dr. also put me on prenatal vitamins and a biotin supplement that dissolves under my tongue. She also recommended rogaine for men (said it works better than the women’s version, but cautioned me not to use the men’s if i am TTC or prego). I haven’t done the rogaine yet because I’m trying to see if my hair will get better with the vitamins and nioxin first. So far, it seems a lot better than it was a few months ago.

If you want better quality hair, I’d suggest taking sea kelp and possiby horsetail. I have naturally thick hair, but I wanted it to grow faster, so I’ve been taking those. And it’s helped. Sea Kelp is mainly protein, which your hair (and nails) need for good growth and strength.
