@sexxysheddy: west windsor is pretty expensive (I work in East Windsor)….if you move a little further south the cost goes down.  Or even into bucks county PA.

I lived in Lawrenceville in an apt with 2 other girls, we each had our own room, it was right after I got my first job and it was pretty reasonable…and just down the road from you!  And it wasn’t a dump at all!

Jersey sucks.  Hardcore.  I posted in the thread about renting or owning and there’s no way I could afford a home here for years and years.  🙁

@sexxysheddy: well there are jobs in Philly if you live in SJ the commute is super-easy.  You could even try Bordentown which isn’t toooo far from you, and less expensive.  Or Ewing?

One of my best friends and her Darling Husband lived in Hillsborough area, and knew they wouldn’t be able to afford a house in NJ, so they packed up and headed to Raleigh, NC.  They love it there and their house is beautiful and far less expensive than NJ.  I know you want to stay close to your mom, but the cost of living there is soooooo low maybe you could be a SAHM?

Unfortunately FH and I bought our houses before the housing marked crapped out, we wouldn’t dare try to sell now, or else we’d be gone to PA where property taxes are way cheaper.  We’re stuck here for a while…

@sexxysheddy: Depends on where you live in South Jersey.  It was pretty expensive where I lived in Camden County – unless you wanted to live in the really bad towns.

Fiance is getting his plumbing license in NJ.  He has about a year left of school.  I really wish we could move to PA at least, but he would have to start all over.  It’s silly.

@Stammie16: I live in SJ and philly is not close or easy to get to.  Plus it’s expensive to commute there with all the tolls and gas.  Sometimes it takes 45 min to get there and others it will take almost 2 hours because of backups….A job would have to pay A LOT to get me to commute to philly everyday.

@Rouquine: Hi neighbor 🙂  I own my condo which was all I could afford here at 5.25% interest and bangin credit.  Now, my taxes are going up, making my mortagage about $50 more a month…grrr

@TheFutureMrsLamkin: Hey! =) Yeah, that’s pretty crazy.  I want a house.  Knowing it’ll take years to get one is kind of depressing.  I can only hope for a miracle.

I moved to PA this year to save for the wedding. I was living in Princeton Junction/West Windsor…and i loved it..I loved my apartment I loved where I lived..but there was no way I could pay the rent there and pay for a wedding..so now we’re over in PA but I still work in Princeton so I commute..its not so bad.  Have you considered Dayton..its wayyy cheaper and not a bad area?

Haha me too!  My apartment let me break the lease on the condition that I pay the rent until they find someone to rent it..so I gave them two months notice and they had it re-rented before I even moved out you could try asking them that if theres a way theyd let you sublease or find someone else to move in
