hello everyone! i just got engaged and was considering an outside tent wedding in new jersey. i wanted to have it in a white tent, lots of drapes, and chandeliers. sorta like these:
i’m not sure how to go about this…
first, what venues would allow a tent?
and second, what kind of budget would you need for about 150 people?
if anyone can give me any insight related to this topic, please help!! THANKS! : )

As for venues, you just need to research outdoor venues in New Jersey. Is there a view you like or an outdoor feel that you love? That could be your starting point. It really is up to each property owner since tents can be quite damaging to lawns.
On budget, expect a huge budget if you’re serious about copying those you linked. Tents aren’t cheap, but they don’t have to be budget busters. However, if you want everything under the tent – dance floor, all seating, a lounge, and room to walk around comfortably – along with the custom lighting, draping, and massive flowers in many, you need a very large budget.
Plus, consider that if you’re choosing an outdoor venue so that you can have a tent, you are very likely going to have to rent all of your tables, chairs, and linens. If it’s not a traditional venue, you’re also going to have to rent all of your china, glasses, and serving pieces unless you find a caterer to provide that.

There is a venue in Florham Park, called the Park Avenue club. They actually have semi-permanent tents, which are pretty awesome. The ceiling has all of the draping but you can open the sides to beautiful glass doors or have them completely open. It’s the effect of having a tent without worrying about space heaters.

The Oakeside Manison in Bloomfield has a wonderful tent and you also have the use of the mansion and gardens for prep, pictures, and cocktail hour. I’ve been to a couple events there and it’s beautiful.
Here’s a link to the photo gallery on the caterer’s website:
