Just wondering – is anyone not having a bustle on their dress? The seamstress said my dress would look a bit odd with a bustle (and I trust her judgment!) it does have a wrist strap or am I going to struggle?

Hm, that dress does look tough to bustle. People will step all over that lovely train, though, and that could end up ripping your dress! I think you need something small in the back to bring the train in, like a mini-bustle, just to stop that from happening.

My biggest concern with not bustling is being able to dance without tripping on your dress.
I’ve asked around the Bee about bustling my dress and the general consensus was to not bustle it. So I’ll give it a try – it’s a very small train but I have a feeling I’ll be holding it up all night to avoid stepping on it.

That dress is gorgeous!
I know what you mean- we’re having a ceilidh so it could be busy!
although at a friends wedding i stepped on her dress even though it was bustled mid-ceiligh and ripped the bustle ties, I was mortified (even more so as she was actually my partners friend and this was the second time I have ever met her!) It was all fine though- I think her mum jsut safety pinned it up!

Honestly I would bustle it. It’s a pretty long train and I wouldn’t want to be bothered with holding a heavy train on my wrist all night, plus it might be hard to dance too. I’m sure you could find a unique way to do it, just research bustles.
